Frienlines and help of Management and Staff,even giving a parking voucher for free!!!. The room was good and the staff were all helpful and friendly.We didn't expect an American style hotel so we were able to enjoy the unique experience of a midrange European hotel that was very clean and friendly.The steep stairs added to the quaintness and were actually fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the parking was free, which was great. The hotel was clean, however it has steep stairs and no lift, so it may be difficult for elder people.Clean, friendly.Helpful owners nd staff. Hotel is very near centre of Haarlem with good cafes,restaurants and shops. 20minutes from Station and 15 minutes train journey to centre of Amsterdam. The hospatlity of staff. Friendlyness. quite good breakfast, friendly staff, nice room. Very quiet and easy-going. Nothing superfluous. Good breakfast buffet with fresh juice and fruit. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We will certainly come again. There is one thing missing in the information about the hotel. There inno lift, thgis should be mentioned.central position. the hotel is ok. centrally located. Clean rooms. Spacious double room is much better than simple double room in this hotel (we stayed several times in Die Raeckse). Bathroom in this room in winter is appreciated. We've got double bed as requested. We liked its location and the fact that each member of our family of 4 was able to sleep in a bed, all in the same room.easily accessible from main roads, close to centre, no fuss. comfy bed and clean room. Friendly helpful staff/owner. Car park space available in nearby secure underground carpark for reasonable additional cost. location, breakfast, staff. Friendly. The coffee at breakfast was good!!. The hotel is in a central position, ideal to take a stroll in the city centre. My room was spacious and clean enaugh. It's convenient position. Steep stairs and reception area give the wrong impression. The stair case. difficult to regulate water temperature in shower. The stairs!. it felt a bit confining and the feeling of being watched and/or monitored while having breakfast; the construction across the str. was not a site to see and hear but i am certain that that is a short term problem. Thin walls, we heard the neighbors coughing or taking shower. Decoration and ambiance is minimal. weak on breakfast choice. Just a bit bland and boring. We've been to 2 nicer hotels in Haarlem which are cheaper. No shower gel and very mean shampoo provided. Very steep stairs but no lift available making it very difficult for elderly people or painfull knee and hip joints.the view: building site. A bit dated. Steep stairs. Would have liked to have tea making facilities in the room, this should be a standard even for basic hotels. Also the breakfast was the same every morning, a change of menu would have been good. Overall the hotel is looking run down and needs refurbishing. Breakfast to upgrade. No lift. Stairs dirty narrow and dangerous. At night no one at reception. Finally i reccomend this hotel to young people only spending a weekend 2-3 days in the city.I would have liked the reception to have been more helpful and friendly.

Hotel Die Raeckse is situated in the centre of Haarlem, just in opposit of the big centreparking the "Raaks", which is 24 hours open. The hotel comprises 21 comfortable and clean rooms, devided in singles, doubles/twins, triples and quadruple rooms.
All rooms have shower/bath, toilet, television and telephone.
The breakfastbuffet is situated in our homely cafe of the hotel.
The cafe has a very nice "Old Dutch" furnishing.
On request you can have you lunch or dinner in our Cafe or Brasserie.

Information about the area
The city of Haarlem is more than 750 years old and is very centrally located near the city of Amterdam and the beachresorts Bloemendaal and Zandvoort. Haarlem is known as one of the best shopping city and on walkingdistance of our hotel you will find the Frans Hals Museum and Teylers Museum (oldest museum of Holland).For the walker of cyclist there are many beautiful routes towards nature reserves.

You can reach the rooms by the staircases (not very steep)
Travelling information
By Bus (from Schiphol Airport):
- Take the bus marked Zuidtangent (number 300). This bus leaves 6 times every hour. Travelling time is about 37 minutes. Bus fares are sold at Schiphol Airport, but you can also buy them on the bus.
- The hotel is near the Wilhelminastraat bus stop; ask the driver to indicate to you when to get off.
- The hotel is just around the corner from this bus stop.
By Train (from Schiphol Airport):
- Take the train to Amsterdam Sloterdijk.
- Once you have reached this station, change trains to Haarlem.
- The hotel is within walking distance from Haarlem train station.
- Once you get out of the station, go into the city centre of Haarlem by following the roads Kruisweg, Kruisstraat, Barteljorisstraat and then turn right into the Zijlstraat.
- Turn left and you will see the Post Office. Walk by the Post Office and turn right. At the end of this street (Raaks) you will see the hotel.
By Car:
- Take the A9 motorway to Amsterdam.
- Take the A205 motorway to Haarlem.
- Exit at Haarlem-Zuid.
- Drive along the road called Schipholweg and go over the bridge.
- Drive along the roads Buitenrustlaan, Kamperlaan, Paviljoenslaan, van Eedenstraat and Wilhelminastraat.
- You will see the hotel once you reach the end of the Wilhelminastraat (on the right of this street there is a parking platform). Finally turn right.
