The staff at the hotel were very efficient and friendly. Check-in took about five minutes in the queue, but only 30 seconds to complete once at the desk. The hotel is clean with a contemporary design and the rooms were very well equipped withan applemac that doubles as your tv and radio links and free WiFi and internet in the hotel. Excellent bathroom and for the budget minded this cost us £234 for a two night stay. We have stayed in various budget hotels that have come nowhere near the same st.
all reviews » We liked the location - very accessible/walking distance from the central train station and to the city center. Guests can simply pick up anytime, free bottled water, and apple/banana at the reception area. The warm cookie for incoming guests is a nice way to welcome everyone. Wifi works well. Breakfast is very good - a lot of choices. The sky lounge is a good venue to relax in the evening and one can get ample view of the city. Room, toilet/bath, bedsheets, pillows, etc. is clean - as expecte. 1) Its one of the best hotel we stay in our trip. Honestly nothing went wrong and we appreciated the staff gave us a good price to upgrade our room to a better view with free minibar and breakfast included. The breakfast is unbeatable and the variety of choice is unexpected. 2) the satff is very nice and helpful, welcome cookies are warm and delicious which gave us an excellent first impression 3)room is spacious and comfortable with even temperature, wont be too hot or cool. 4) sky lo. Great location, close to the central station, the library and some really good restaurants. Great rooms, perfect size and amazing view over the city (at least from the upper floors). We were pleasantly surprised by the gym, which was well-equipped and not crowded at all. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Another great thing was the terrace on the 11th floor, but also the smaller terrace on the 9th floor, which was only meters away from our room, so you could easily sit and just relax or . I loved the location. Central to access most cites either by foot, tram, or bicycle! Accommodations were lovely, clean, high end . always enjoy the warm cookies upon check in:) Staff was remarkable & highly attentive! Love the iMac tv/music/computer option!! My room had a city view balcony and even in Feb it was lovely to walk out onto and snap pics while listwning to te sounds of the city! Came to the dth after leaving the aweful Amarath across the street!. The room was was clean and comfortable. It was very convenient in terms of its location; it is very near the central train station (only 5 minute walk), and it's very near to the center of the town. The best thing about the hotel was the Sky Roof which has an amazing view of the city. Not only that, the service, the atmosphere and the food were fabulous too. In addition to this, there was free wi-fi which worked pretty well. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they offered us warm cookies upon arrival, everyone of the workers is smiling and greeting, there are continuous free bottles of water served at the reception, we found a free drink coupon attached to our door and we enjoyed it during our dinner, Mac tv & computer with good speed wifi, concierge desk is helping 24/24 with advice to the best city tours and restaurants. This hotel is brand new and nearly flawless. Great location (2 minutes to walk to train station, less than 10 minutes to walk to Dam Square). The room was spacious and well-designed. The bathroom is modern and bright. The shower had great water pressure and hot water. The staff was energetic and informative. The lobby bar/cafe had good food, and the bar on the top level has a great view of the city. The staff at the double tree hilton are extremely helpful, poliete and professional. We were upgraded from a deluxe double to a superior room free of charge which was a surprise and really nice gesture as it was for my husbands birthday. I would highly recommend this hotel for all its facilities, location, room comfort etc. We will definately stay at the double tree hilton again the next time we visit. Perfectly located for visiting Amsterdam - at a walking distance from Central station and the city center. Although the hotel is close to the train station (the quickest way from the airport to the city is by train), it is very quiet. Polite and helpful staff, cleanliness and comfort in the rooms. The room wasn't very big, but equipped with everything you may need, including iron and water heater. The location was fantastic. The main attractions of the city are a 5min walk away. Situated rigt next to the Centraal stn. The front desk staff are just brilliant and extremely helpful to accomodate any request you might have. The rooms are well designed although a bit on the smaller side. They're all equipped with an iMac which helps a lot. The hotel offers free wi fi which is pretty decent. The room was great - executive suite, we were asked did we want to upgrade for an additional 40e per night upon check-in. From there you may explore the entire city. The location near Centraal Station Amsterdam is excellent and the staff were most attentive. We were offered an "upgrade" to a city view room and the view was good although we were not invited to see the other room so we really don't know if the upgraded room was better than the one we booked. Have stayed in many hotels in Amsterdam and this is the best one for location,price,friendly staff, clean, and comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the cost of breakfast. I ate at Starbucks in the same building for half the cost. I will be staying at this hotel on future trips!. The hotel is modern, staff is excellent. iMac is very convenient. View from Sky Lounge is beautiful. We had standard room with windows towards railways, but it was not a problem, since the room was on the 9th floor and therefore has a low level of train noise and a view on the river. Very comfortable beds and rooms. We paid additional 40 dollars for an early check-in (in one room. We booked four rooms in all, for our group). I don't understand the logic since the room is already available anyway by the time we arrived, even assuming that we got there earlier than the usual check-in time. In contrast, the hotels we stayed in, in Paris, Belgium and Zurich were quick to give us one room for early check-in, where we put all our luggages and freshen up a bit after a long trip. 1) Have a little distance from station, its hard when carry bulky luggage 2) staff in sky lounge is not friendly. Pretty hard beds and quite pricy breakfast. We decided not to include the breakfast during our stay. If you're sensible to noices this hotel probably isn't the best choice, since the trains do make a lot of noise, even late at night. This didn't bother us much, but on the other hand we're used to living close to the rails at home. Although it's close to the central station we felt it was pretty far from all the attractions, like museums, shopping areas and parks. My only complaint was the complimentary toiletries! I loved the white candle shower and face items that were provided but was not a fan of the Citron! Pretty minor complaint!!. The only thing I didn't like was the heating. The heating didn't work; actually, it had an AC with the heating option, but unfortunately it didn't heat the room at all. Didn't like the guest room furniture, seems like if it's from the 80'S. The space of the room is too small in comparison to the value of money. The varieties of the breakfast are limited at the executive lounge, for three mornings we had the same food with no alternatives. The room's heater did not work well, so the room was chilly in the evening. Our room had the "harbor view," which overlooked the train tracks toward the harbor. The noise from the train wasn't as bad as I had initially anticipated when we first arrived in the room...it mostly sounded like strong wind or soft thunder when a train would go by. If you are a light sleeper, maybe request a courtyard view room. The only thing I might say is not up to the mark are the washrooms which are really small and not equipped with nuch toiletteries. the price! very expensive but was a great trip and if you can afford this it really is worth it especially for the location!. We had a great stay up until we had to check out. After waiting to be served for several minutes, another person came to help the one person on duty. However, instead of respecting the line, he called for the people checking out to come up first. Normally I wouldn't mind but we had a plane to check. I would think it makes more sense to check out guests who are leaving and need to be at the airport, than people who have just arrived - especially given that at 6am, their room likely isn't ready!. Nothing really, but I would personally prefer a small teapot at breakfast rather than having a cup of water poured and a choice of tea bags. As I say this is a purely personal preference as I like to drink very hot tea. Poor range of TV channels No milk provided with the hot drinks, just cream for coffee (not a coffee drinker) Breakfast prices were extortionate for what you got. The air conditioning system couldn't be adjusted the way I liked it, so the room was a bit too cold. It could have received an excellent value for money from me if the price was about 120 euros a day. I paid around 170 euros a day. For that price I would have expected more from the hotel. The room was very small with a double (not even queen) bed which was soft and uncomfortable. There was little space for a second case so we were cramped. Water pressure in the shower was poor hardly enough to wet oneself. The food for breakfast was ok but an evening meal I had (chefs special pork belly crackle) was soft, tough and tastless. Upon complaint they gave me a second dish which was not much better. cost of breakfast meal. Noise from running trains can be a problem if the room is on a low floor and has the window on railways. You always wish it was a bit cheaper, but all in all, we were very impressed. Only complaint. They did not change or wash the glasses in the room. Breakfast buffet too expensive. Should be included in stay. We booked a luxury room which was fine but were allotted an inside room, so looked into the central court. Only when we went to the Skylounge did we realise the spectacular views of the city and port we'd missed out on. breakfast not provided. water boiler leaked water. The cleaning service got worse each day we stayed by the end of our 6 night stay I think the only thing they did was make the bed and place clean towels. Breakfast price too high, we ate in local cafes. Check in was a bit late at 3.00 pm. Breakfast was too expensive so we had it in the city. All lounges and restaurants were very expensive. nothing. The only issue was getting the room warm. There weren't robes as advertised. None. The room, with letsbookhotel.com should have cost me £238, when I checked out I was charged £266 and when the room had been cleaned, they had forgotten to replace the coffee and milk. the location wasn't bad, it was just right near the station so a little walk to everything but it really wasnt bad. The fact that we did not have a bath - after so much walking especially in the rain - its really good to have a hot soak - but alas -. We had an i-Mac act as TV and computer. The keyboard and monitor is quite far apart, I have bad eye sight and can hardly see the screen while typing. Nothing!. It is adjacent to the train station, if you can't sleep with the trains coming by at night, should you be on that side of the hotel, this may not be the place for you.
