What people say
Frankly, it was the best choise I have ever made. &Quot;House of
Amstel" is very central in terms of location, you can find the
place very easily just a few minutes of walking from Dam Sqaure, it is
actually at the intersection of several busy streets such as Damrak and
Amstel ; it's called Muntplein. You can reach to Flower Markt and
Muntplein Trum Station within 2 minutes of walking. Apart from
excellent location the place is very comfortable, you have everything
under your hand. You can . all reviews »
We were met at the apartments by Kai who explained everything for us and gave us some great tips on things to do whilst we were there.
The apartments were very clean and comfortable and the location was excellent. It was located a few minutes from Dam Square, one of the main attractions in Amsterdam. There was a great view of the river Amstel from the apartment windows with all the boats passing by at regular intervals.
Very well located in the heart of Amsterdam near hot spots such as :
Rembrandtplein : 2 minutes walking.
Dam Square : around 10 minutes walking.
Red light district : around 10 minutes walking.
Leidseplein : around 20 minutes walking
The Rijksmuseum (National Museum) : around 20 minutes walking.
Finally : The room is clean, the hotel has a very good view on the canal and the owner is very friendly and helpful.
Wow - the view over the canal across the road you could look at for
hours. The owner is a young guy who seems to be really on the ball.
Nothing is too much trouble for him. He does not live on the premises
but is easily contactable by phone. The design of the apartment is great
and very suitable for two persons. Amenities are all very close. We
would not hesitate in staying there again. Bravo.
My wife and I stayed at the house of Amstel last week. Out stay couldn't be any better. The room was really nice decorated and clean. The owner of the hotel is very nice and helped us with finding the right places to go to. After check out we could store out luggage to enjoy Amsterdam for the last day without walking around with this big suitcases. I would defiantly stay here again!.
Location is beautiful!!! In the center of everything with the gorgeous
view at Amstel! City center, flower market, tram station, canal trip
boats are just in front of the apartment. The staff is very helpful and
reacts very quickly to the requests. Nice cosy terrace makes your stay
even more comfortable.
Relaxed staff, free use of wifi wich is usefull to find and locate all the attractions in Amsterdam. Comfortable bed and the controll of the heating is a bonus in the winter. Exellent shower! We would come back again! it is located in a brilliant location!.
The great place! Inthe heart of the city. Close to main sights. It
clean, cosy, designed apartment has gorgeous veiw to the river from the
window and from terrace on the roof. I like it and recommend!.
Colour tone, clean bathroom, kitchenette provision with Nespresso machine, airy with large operable window, excellent canal view, helpful staff with efficiency; added iPad could be good.

The Location was just awesome. Staying here was even better than staying near the Centraal Station. The staff were also nice.
I liked everything the room had to offer. Very comfortable, friendly and responsive. Perfect location to all of Amsterdam.
The location is great and the room is comfortable. One of the best accommodation ever in Amsterdam. We will be back :-).

Location, spacious.

view.
The location is directly in the center of everything.
May be the stairs are alittle bit narrow. But that's so normal for
Amsterdam I guess..You have much more free space in the room.
This hotel hasn't go a reception, the best thing to do call the owner 15 minute before checking inn.
Some facilities are not working properly (something happened to the
boiler and there was no hot water for several hours). It would be good
to have maid service every day (only 1 large towel per person per 2
nights is definitely not enough). Also it would help to have at least
basic shower stuff like shower gel and soap available.
Too small of a closet, with cleaning bucket and mop inside; services materials could have been organized in the other closet; could have cleaner and softer towels; a basic provision of toiletries; window in bathroom should have been screened (ESP construction work was going on); vase with local flowers to receive guests could be beneficial in dark setting.
Had a ground floor with large window and due to the great location it had lots of tourists walking by day and night.
Lack of on site reception can be a bit inconvienant of you need something, but Kai was very responsive when we asked for something. That's it really. I would stay there again. For the people who complain about the noise, it's Amsterdam, what do you expect. If you're a light sleeper buy earplugs.
This is not suited for older people / people with kids due to the steep staircases. But other than that, this place is very nice.
The more or less constant sound of running water in the water pipes in cieling/walls.
Nothing.
Too small refrigerator ("mini"). No dishwasher. Toilet seat has to be changed by new one. The company which does the laundry also.
Street noise is there so earplugs would really help. On the other hand it helps you not to oversleep. ;).
While the studio was nice and clean, I thought the rooftop deck had been ignored. It's too bad as it should be an added bonus - not an afterthought. Just a warning...the stairs are steep!!.
There was some noise from construction in one studio. The owner arranged a new room withing 5 minutes, which was great!.
Little loud being on a busier street.
The stairs,.
nothing.
No one met us, when we arrive... (just phone num on the door) although I emailed my appearance time.
Without local mobile phone, I was enforced to ask people at he street to call...
Extremely small frigidaire
No microwave.
Pure kitchen staff.
no TV + the long crazy stupid stairs!.
Entrance full of garbage
Ants more or less all over the place
Outdoor-furnitures damaged
Expect more for money you pay.
its at a cobblestone road, honking cars all day and nite until 4-5 am,
incredible loud - hard to get sleep there. we where on first floor , dont know how it is above- you also hear peple coming home slamming front door and walk up old stairs. noise is all around you-.
We stayed in the room with the roof deck, which has a nice view. It was
filthy and the housekeeping services are a joke. There is no ac which is
a problem when it's in the high 70'S. Sleeping is impossible due
to the noise.
