A very nice hotel, with all the necessary staff, clean, simple, with pleasant neutral design of the rooms, helpful friendly staff availiable at reception 24 h, in a very nice location - aside from the center but in a pleasant area and with comfortble transport connection, plus it's just 15-20 min nice walk along the chanalles to Rembrandt square and to flower market. A very big plus especially for Amsterdam is a lift the hotel has :-) Very good value for money, definitely recommend.
all reviews » Although hotel isn`t located in the city centre is just about 20 minutes away by walking. Located just nearby Albert Cuyp market, Sarphatipark and few minutes away from Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum and Stejdelijk museum hotel offers a nice stay to explore all the most visited sites in Amsterdam. Red light district is not far away though. The location was great - it was exactly between Amstel station and the city centre - 20 mins of walking both places. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and fresh. Though the hotel is situated on a busy street there was no problem with the noise at least during our weekend stay. Staff were very helpful - enabled us to check in early and kept our bags until we left late. Rooms warm with comfy beds - great to come back to as it was bitter weather during our stay. TV and wifi better than we normally find at the cheaper end of the market which is our normal way of working. The location is good, there are several trams lines in front of the hotel, in less than 10 minutes you are in the centre. Also the area has lots of restaurants and bars. The room was not big but nice and comfortable, we had a balcony, that is good for smokers. The staff were very welcoming and great to us, especially Mr Mohammed, he was more than amazing, helped us with a lot of things concerning directions, and general information about amsterdam. Location of hotel is very close to public transportation stops. Discribing the staff that they are amazing is not enough. Mohamad the was so frirndly and helpful beside the girl in the day shift and the guy in the night shif. The location was good as only one tram will drop u to the city. The location was safe, central and walking distance to the wonderful street market , seraphit park, grocery and personal shopping and with the tram out front very accessible to anywhere in the city. Hotel was fabulous would defonitely recommend it and had no problems at all room was spotless and heating was on constantly so made it a very cosy and comfy room to stay in. No heating problem, fine bathroom, having kettle in the room was good. location is good, very close to tram stops, also Albert Cuyp Market is 5 min away by walking. Large modern room with a terrace. Very light and spacious and we will come back to the same hotel, which is within five minutes walk from the market. Small bedroom and large bathroom, staff very polite, the room was clean. Cat parking along the streets in the neighborhood costs €3-4 per hour during 09-24, which was great for us as we mostly parked there during the night. Good service in the reception. We booked a deluxe room with balcony - the balcony was shared with a neighbouring room, so it was not private - if you want a balcony to sit with a glass of wine before going to bed - certainly not the case. Probably not all of them are like this, not sure. The room was quite small though. More expensive than we would normally pay but it was the Easter weekend and it was still one of the cheapest in Amsterdam. We had some problems with the shower and the flush, but they immediatley solved it. size of room, had no space for luggage. No ac. I really dislike the headboard mural and the sound from the hall was loud with doors slamming. poor isolation between the rooms, although we reserved for a double room our bed was two seperate beds joint together. Very difficult to find parking if you arrive in the evening/after 17:00. Please be aware that they tow away cars rapidly in Amsterdam. We found out by experience, though quite expensive (419 euro) it was an experience where we received a lot of support from the locals. The bathroom always became a lake when we took shower, wasn't very clean. The staff responsible for the night wasn't so good. Never stay on the ground, there is a garden that everyone can see inside the room and some ppl go there in the night to smoke and making noises. Location a bit too far from city center. My room was at first floor and in first day was cold but they gived me an electric heater who was very good. Bathroom very small for people in my and wifes height. Price is a bit high Not a great choice of food for breakfast - too few options The price of the breakfast was not properly announced. Room was very noise. Located at the front I had difficulties sleeping because of the noise. Tea and coffee not replenished and also plastic cups for tea and coffee not good and not replenished. Noises of guests fights during night without any interruption or presence from the staff to handle the situation. We just could not sleep. Double bed aren't hold together, a lot of noises. the room was cold. Very soft mattress. Wi-fi connection wasn't very good (couldn't even use skype with video). Shower was small and the shower curtain was touching your body sometimes. Room small. The phone in the room was stolen prior to our arrival and despite a promise to do so, management never provided us with a phone. Rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis. Breakfast was not worth 9 euro. Staff were not very helpful. The mattresses were not really comfortable, room a bit small. The first impression was really bad, the reception was not nice to us and I thought we would end up having trouble with the staff, but the other staff were much better. The breakfast was not good. Rooms luminosity was not enough. All in all, it was worth the price. Lots of noise in the morning, not sure if it was cleaning or repairs going on. It woke me up a few times. Also the beds weren't comfortable. room was too small. There was a minor problem with washstand - bad outflow. The window od out ground-floor room looked out to the yard with some building commotion a bicycle storage. The room we stayed on the top floor was very hot and stuffy. As there was no air con we opened the windows but this made it very noisy with the trams and traffic on the road outside. The beds were very soft, not good if you don't like a soft bed. Free WiFi was no good at all!. There was some stains on the ceiling from what I presume was a leak from the bathroom above. Room was on the ground floor and close to reception, so was a little noisy at times. People would sometimes smoke right outside the window. the personal wasn't very helpfull, the cleaning in the room was made quite curious, as the beds were made fine but all the clothes who happend to be on the beds were thrown all over the place in the room. Construction going on but that is just part of life. Cleanliness of shower cubicle was dubious and the glass was badly cracked.
