The flexibility and natural friendliness of the staff. Our wish to get another bed for our daughter in our room was immediately fulfilled, as well as our wish to prolong the use the room on our departure-day until 3 p.m. Another big plus and unusual for Asian hotels was the wonderful muesli and the Italian-style cappuccino at the breakfast-buffet. Very nice hotel with excellent facilities and well appointed. However Yangon hotels generally are vastly over priced compared to other south East Asia countries and this is no exception. Having said that it does deserve its 5 star rating and the staff were particularly accommodating.

Well set out with good pool and friendly service. The over the top security - having bags searched every time you entered the hotel was very off putting. Not walking distance to city or any other restaurants outside of hotel. After rooms were cleaned air con turned down to 15degc....freezing when we returned to the room. There is no tour desk. You have to organise your own travels. The concierge helped with finding a taxi driver. I know IDD phone charges are always high, but never before like US$10/MINUTE high. Just needed to make a pretty quick call. Skype and Facetime were options but more hassle. restaurant staffs needs little more tranining in serving to table, restaurant spoons and knives looks used up and old fashioned. need to replace the dining materials. Quality of food in Chinese restaurant was somewhat less than previous time. A bit far from business area and airport. Less Facility in the hotel. No internet in my room. slightly too corporate. The room rates in this low season was a bit too high. check out time. The booking in proceedure. Needs a general refurb as feels a little worn compared to traders, breakfast not great. 1) Limited choices at buffet line. Limited choices of restaurants and limited choices of menu at each restaurant 2) WiFi is unstable and slow. Wifi not allowed on day of check out. Why? 3) Very expensive compared to other hotels in other countries in south east asia 4) Hotel did not bother to reply my e-mail requesting for airport transfer although I wrote to them twice. Good thing is the transport was arranged despite them not replying. Location not near anything. unable to walk anywhere outside hotel. Rates have nearly tripled within the last year. The dining room was over run with staff, it seemed a tad unorganized. We dined Saturday evening but were quite disappointed with the noise of so many children celebrating av birthday, running around, playing and seemingly ignoring their manners in a dining room. Why didn't the hotel staff request the parents to mind their children.
