Nice and friendly host, very helpful. The host organized our arrival to the hotel and gave us a good suggestions how to enjoy the city. We ordered a dinner from our home-country that we had on arrival, a good start into our holiday. Host helped us find a city guide to tour the city the first day, we strongly recommend that. The neighborhood looked rough at first but was a great example of the old Medina life and in a walking distance to places of interest. The interior of the Riad was beauti.
all reviews » On arrival, all the staff were extremely helpful and made us instantly feel at home. The room facilities were good and clean and had a very authentic moroccan atmosphere. The riad was beautiful and the roof terrace was extremely peaceful and relaxing after a day in the souks. But in particular, the manager, Saad, was more like a friend than a manager. We spent countless hours hearing amazing stories and learning about the history of Morocco from him. He was the most genuine person we met for ou. From the moment we arrived at the airport the staff were soooo lovely, made us feel right at home. Breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace every morning, every turn we were surrounded gorgeous traditional decor. Just a 5 minute walk to the Souks and 15 minute walk to Djemaa el-Fnaa square and market place. Perfect location for us away from the hussle and bustle of the main square, really peacefull. The facilities were fine for this price range. The common areas in particular have been meticulously restored and are very relaxing. But the real reason to stay here is the riad's manager Saad. An incredibly gracious and accommodating host, even by high Moroccan standards, he helped us in many ways and joined us for wonderful conversations. I don't think that we've felt this welcome anywhere, ever. The staff were very friendly, helpful and honest. The manager was very careful that we were not taken advantage of by guides, tour operators etc. The rooms were beautifully decorated and very clean. The riad had a roof terrace which was great to sit on in the evenings. Also, the restaurant in the evening was excellent. Great value for money!. Very friendly and helpful staff (thank you for everything Mr. Saad :-) Most attractions of the city are in walking distance, the Riad itself is situated near an important city gate, in a bustling and charming neighbourhood among locals. The lovely guy who works there all the time here is someone just amazing. he makes you fill at home. We stayed the for two nights and we had a lovely experience. Many thanks and keep going that way becouse you are doing well. All the staff were helpful and friendly.The room was clean, spacious and had a good a/C. The breakfast was substantial and the roof area was good for relaxing. The riad was located in the old town and was good for sights. It is a typical maroccan riad with beautiful furniture and comfortable rooms. All the staffs are very friendly. This riad is located close to one of the gates of the big wall and this can be a good reference to get there. The room was clean and the staffs service was very good. I enjoyed the Morrocan tea and eating breakfast on the terrace. The taxi service from and too the venue was very well organised and was on time. Staff was incredible! Fantastic hotel, advise to try it. The staff are helpful, the Ryad is very good to chill out, they have rooftop terasse. The bus station where the CTM buses start (Gare Routier) is 5 minutes walk,. They wanted to do everything for us, without asking money. For example, my daughter-in-law wanted a cup of tea , late in the evening and she got it. We didn't have to pay for it. Very nice staff. Not much, one of the family's best hotel experience. A faster WiFi perhaps?. The day we had to leave Riad Mahjouba. We stayed in 2 other hotels, one a 5*, and neither came close to the comfort and hospitality we received. The only criticism was that the (four poster) bed was rather squeaky and the mattress a tad hard. But this is me being extra picky. The only downside was that it was very easy to get lost in the surrounding medina. A more detailed map of the area was definitely needed. I would sugest some fruit for the breakfast, that`s all. The bathroom should be renovated because the shower in my room was loose and sometimes there wasn´t hot water. The lights need to be on down stairs at night to make it more homely then switched off at midnight. The door bell is very loud and when we stayed it rang at 300am then 630am and woke us up. Maybe a flashing light for staff would be more appropriate after hours. I also would like to see the make shift beds for staff on the roof terrace and in the lounge tidied away. Bathroom was old and dirty. Shower was luke warm at best. Hot water did not work in my room.But the manager did let me get showered in another room which was free. Matresses very hard if you are fussy. Directions easy to follow but hard to find at night when retiring from El Feena. The riad was a little difficult to locate. Shower Bed. - location inside medina, too far from the road, so very difficult to find it and difficult to access with heavy luggage - bed is too short (for 190cm person) and too soft - no windows in the rooms - included brecfast is nothing at all. First, we couldn't sleep because of the bed. It was too hard, fortunately we got another room with another bed. The location is really quite far from anything of interest, so you have to take a cab or be prepared for a long walk. You will definitely get lost coming back unless you have a gps. Breakfasts could really be improved. Boring pastries and bread, every day. it's very difficult to find the palce, and even fro the taxi driver. we afraid of the safty issues when we just arrive. The hotel is situated in a labirynth of old medina streets, which makes it impossible to be found without help of locals who demand high tips. We got no receipt for our stay although we asked for it. Room was a bit small. Location is not that great if you're planning to walk around during the evening / night.
