We were efficiently collected from the airport and brought to the door of the Riad. From that moment we received the most outstanding service imaginable: we were greeted in person and offered refreshments to relax. We were allowed to drop our bags early in our room and discovered it beautifully adorned, decorated with rose petals and with a stunning basket of roses to celebrate our daughter's birthday that day. We were treated like the Royals with such warmth and passion.The staff treated us like their extended family including the owner brothers! The manager - Samir - welcomed us with beaming smile, energy, warmth and could not do enough for us. I noted this applied to all the guests. So well placed, all major attractions are within th. From the traditional Moroccan welcome to the parcel of fruit and pastries to see us on our way to the airport, the Managers and staff could not have been more courteous and helpful. After the hustle and bustle of the Medina Dar Anika’s tranquil atmosphere was a complete contrast. The evening meal prepared at the hotel was spectacular and much effort was put into making it a special occasion for us. The hotel arranged a guide for our first morning. The decor of the Riad was stunning and quite luxurious. Breakfast on the rooftop balcony was a particularly wonderful way to start the day and the food was excellent even for someone with special dietary requirements. Dar Anika was an oasis that proivded a haven away from the business of the Medina and the busyness of touring. If the taxi driver knows your destination is Dar Anika he can change his mind during the ride and charge you a double price just because, some of them, know that Dar Anika charge the double price to their guests. A taxi driver ripped me off at Riad front door and the staff didn't support me. Really authentic Riad but our tiny cramped room comprising a double bed, 1 upright chair at a small desk in the corner and one reading light could hardly be described as a "double room and seating area" and we spent a week in it?. Absolutely nothing !. Relatively basic rooms. Small bathroom. OK bedding. Internet very weak signals . Dar Anika was defeated by the challenge of providing hot water in the bathroom. Very bracing showers on fresh Marrakesh mornings. Toweling and linen is tired as are the room furnishings. Lack of clear surfaces in the room to place personal possessions (books, keys, devices, etc). Poor lighting - no reading light.
