The receptionist and most of the staff spoke quite good english.. The hotel although a modern building had lots of traditional mooriish style fitments...i.e. lovely wooden decorated ceilings,, carved doors and patterned tile floors. The rooms were big enough and the beds were comfortable. The showers were large and the hot water pretty instant. The breakfast each day was varied and good except for one complaint. I used the pool twice during our visit and it was ide.
all reviews » Well-placed within reasonable walking distance of Djemaa el Fna square, this is a typical city hotel. The glass of tea and a pastry on arrival was welcome, and car parking was easy. Clean, comfortable, and an excellent buffet breakfast by the pool, which sadly we didn't have time to try!. Perfect position (near the city centre, but outside the chaos of the Medina), very beautiful structure, abundant breakfast and free car parking! I had to cancel the second night due to health problems and they agreed to cancel it for free even though I was supposed to pay for that. The staff were really friendly and helpful in every way they could. The pool was just big enough for the children to play in and relax around, which it would not have been in the centre of the old city. The hotel was mid-price but good value and full of fine decorative features. A very comfortable stay, children loved it. The staff were very hospitable, professional and helpful. lovely traditional décor and great location. lots of within walking distance. 5mins taxi drive to the medina. Fantastic stay! The hotel states that it is a twenty minute walk to the Jemma el fna......It is not!...It takes at least forty minutes....we tried it on the first night. The coffee at breakfast is undrinkable.......When everything else is so good it would not take much effort to produce fresh coffee each morning.. The absence of any tourist brochures or information at reception, even a local map, was surprising. The beds were a bit hard, and while the breakfast was good, the food menu for the rest of the day was very limited and relatively expensive for what it was. Plus the service for this was very slow. Nothing we didn't like. None. Nothing major, but we booked a room with balcony and got one without. Also, contrary to room description, there was no hairdryer in the bathroom. Coffee was bad but that is allover the country. No tissues or water glasses in the rooms. Weak shower. Taxis don't know it (so ask for Hotel Amani up the street). Far from medina. Not a lot to do in the surroundings. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. The staff spoke little English. Ongoing construction on site at the time to build a new cafe and spa was a bit disturbing. Menu could vary every few days or so. The only down side to the Hotel was that there were no amenities to have a cup of coffee/tea. The Hotel has facilities to sit down in the foyer but no point sitting there if they don't provide anything for you to be able to have a drink . Food was sometimes a little cold and could of done with being hotter when served. poor breakfast. * They might need to do some thing with the breakfast verince. * water system might need to be improved. 30-40 min walk into medina/ taxi should cost not more than 40 - 50 DH. tv limited to arabic stations wifi only in lobby. It was very difficult to find the hotel with the navigation system. Eventually, we had to insert the coordinates to find it, but we did find the hotel. Hotel is far from te city center. If you are with a car then it's not a problem. Some aspects of the hotel design, like a very high basin in the bathroom, which makes it very uncomfortable unless you are very tall. Also the rooms facing the street suffer from poor noise insulation. The breakfast was barely acceptable. No coffee making facilities, no information in room or foyer - not even how the tv or safe works. Nothing. Price of drinking water, limited restaurant menu. No iron and hair dryer. Bathroom was giving the impression of not being that clean. Internet in the rooms is slow. The sewage smell in the bathroom following showers. Only 1 bathtowel in room. The shower ran out of hot water. There was only 1 glass in the bathroom. There was no floor mat for the bathroom. Poor selection of TV channels. When booking online, the website stated that the hotel provided a shuttle service to the airport. At the hotel we were quoted 200 dirham for this which was unexpected and exhorbitant. Some of the artwork on the walls was of ordinary, mass-produced tourist quality. Room has been neglected and needs some TLC. Bathroom needs repairs as toilet is leaking and floor is wet. Poor water pressure. On departure I left a coat in the wardrobe and was not able to get it back as it seems to vanish. Called several times and was not able to speak to the manager and my calls were never returned.I was very disappointed with the customer care and will not go back to hotel. location. You have to take a 50dirham taxi ride each time you want to visit the medina or shopping area. Wish rooms also had beautiful chandeliers and decorative chairs like the hallways did. I was charged more than which was agreed on time of booking and which was on my reservation confirmation. I was not happy with this.... Location : 45 mins walk to medina Staff doesnt speak english. It's located a bit far from the city center. The pool stays in the shade which makes it uncomfortable,. Food was awfull and the toiletr was smelly.... I liked it all. It is not absolutely central, but it is close to lots of nightlife and only a 15 minute walk from the main square. The hotel is so bad buildt, absolutely ALL noise from street enters the room - and from hallway, elevator etc. Low quality windows, doors and construction. Low budget hotels in mountains and desert offered more real comfort. My wife sleept on bath room floor. The friendly staff promised the room was quite. NEVER AGAIN.
