we were very impressed with the ryaid and its staff. It's well presented with lovely intricate detail and immaculate inside. The breakfast is amazing, we felt very spoilt. We sat there as dish after dish was brought out. all reviews » This place is fantastic! Really beautiful architecture right in the Medina, which means you can do most of the sightseeing by foot. We had dinner there for 25eur pp, which I think is expensive but the food was truly amazing. Breakfast was excellent as well. I wish I could stay more time! We hired a guide through them for 25eur, which was ok. They charge 10eur for a transfer to the train station in a grand-taxi, but we took a small-taxi there for 2eur. The Ryad was very traditional and very beautiful the courtyard was stunning. Laila and her team of staff were superb nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and very professional. The breakfast were huge and delicious and the roof terrace gave you the best view of Fez . We also ate dinner at the Ryad which was served on the terrace and was lovely. Ryad Alya is extraordinarily beautiful, intimate in size, yet palatial in it's design and decor. The food is marvelous, a great opportunity; eating on the terrace is magical. The location is excellent and the staff very attentive and helpful. I would take advantage of the chance to take full day excursions from the Ryad. The Ryad was very central to the Medina. Very well restored, particularly the courtyard. The service was excellent with helpful friendly staff Annas, fatah, Hazir and Hassan. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Although expensive, the food was excellent. The beautiful and intimate courtyard, the staff's generosity of spirit and their efforts to please, delicious breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the medina and elegant dinners. Did I mention the cooking class with Fouzia? We had a delightful stay. The hospitality of the Riad team, Leila and Zouheir are really great and very kind, they were helping us all the time with information. The Riad architecture reflects the true Moroccan old houses. The staff was extremely helpful!!Although we were in bad mood because of a car accident, Hassan ( the receptionist) tryied to cheer us up and helped us a lot!!! It has its own Hammam so no need to look for a SPA. It is locate very conveniently and easily accessible (with the car you can get very close). The toilet didn't flush very well. We didn't ask for it to be fixed because we stayed one night only. Nothing. There are no real negatives to report. The Ryad is conscientious about energy usage which is highly commendable. Let them know when you wish to shower and they will ensure that the hot water is plentiful. Leaving... Everything was perfect!!nothing to mention.. I had a twin room with 2 small beds, it was nice but nothing special. Fruits for breakfast must be an added item in a place like morroco. Our room (two bed) was very basic and had a bad smell in the bathroom. They charged us 15€ (!!) to wash a small plastikbag of cloths. Even the map of fes is charged, while other riads in fes give it for free. Dinner is served for 25€ a person, while you can have an identical dinner for 8€ in town. i was very happy there so anything bad i'll be back if i'll have the chance in my life. Although we arrive late in the afternoon,the staffs are maybe too warmhearted to introduce us around the house to know their services and chat, so we spent too much time in the hotel and failed to visit some places. Dinner is nice but expensive. Nothing.
