all reviews » The staff are exceptional here - friendly and welcoming. I don't normally join many group exercise or entertainment activities but I loved it here. The resort is 7km north of the Tulum ruins, so you can easily visit from there. Also the casa cenote which is only a short bike ride down the road is worth a visit - the resort has free bike rental by the way! It's a new resort that has just opened so there may not be many reviews yet but I would definitely recommend. I can't wait to return here mys. The atmosphere was great and the staff were welcoming and informative, highly recommend this hotel, the food was outstanding!! The spread and choice was more than enough and even the chefs were friendly. We had a fantastic short stay of just one night with 4 meals included, it was absolutely fantastic!!! The beach was just 20 meters out the front of our standard room, I don't know how to describe how pleased we were with our stay at Pavo Real. We really enjoyed our stay at PavoReal beach resort. The private beach is amazing. The room was very nice, the bed was very comfortable. The staff at reception and at the beach bar were particularly friendly. The food and service in the Mexican restaurant were outstanding. It helped that it was out of season and thus we had the beach and pools almost to ourselves. We didn't want to join in any activities, and weren't pressured to do so. Located on it's own beach PavoReal was a surprising find on our trip to the Yucatan. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well kept. There are numerous scheduled activities in which to participate, or you can spend the day on the beach or by the pools. This is an all inclusive resort so meals are included as well as snacks and drinks by the pools. The staff is friendly and professional, and always greet you with a smile. We loved the beautiful beach of course, and the excellent service. Everybody was so helpful and service-minded. We were looking for relaxation, and that's what we got. You really need to try the massage from Ignacio, the kindest person and very professional physical therapist giving massages right at the beach. No better way to enjoy a massage than at the beach to the sound of real waves. This resort was wonderful. Lovely rooms with tile floors, warm colors, comfortable. Lovely beach setting with cabanas and lounge chairs, a nice pool and outside bar next to beach. Great Italian food incl in price, the service was excellent and the entertainers from Italy were funny and very talented. We highly recommend the PavoReal Resort for your stay in the Tulum area. Hotel was laid back and just the pace we wanted after staying a couple nights in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. We had a car so we could drive just about anywhere we wanted to go. Lot's of cenote's around the area and worth checking out. Every night is a different theme here. The hotel, the natural atmosphere, minimum air conditioning, the towels, the room, the beds, the pillows, the beach, the surroundings, the entertainment team, the pools. It's a comfortable, new, not too big, very friendly and nice hotel. You will feel very welcome. The staff was great, Avimael, the bartender was amazing, that was an off season, so there were just few guests in the resort and he was a great Interlocutor over the bar. Snorkeling in the reef 300m from the PavoReal beach. Very friendly staff, good italian food with variety. Individual, no mass tourism. A perfect place for a beach stay, Pavoreal has a beautiful large private beach and is charmingly built. As a family with a baby we felt this was the best way to experience Tulum, and families with older children felt the same. The food staff were excellent and went out of their way to prepare and present a huge array of delicious food. They took great pride in their jobs. The service and food in the buffet restaurant were fine, but nothing special. It was a shame that the Mexican restaurant was only open one night out of the 4 that we stayed. The buffet was delicious, but the restaurant would perhaps benefit from varying the menu a bit more. There was nothing we did not like about Pavo Real. Our room was pretty small but still comfy. A couple of our beers were flat but it was not a big deal. We would love to switch off the music in the pool and beach, completely unnecessary and spoils the calm. Apart from that, it would be nice to have more variety in the meals. Everything it's fine in the restaurant (particularly the salads and desserts) but the pasta it's not always what you would expect from an italian hotel.. And the price that you get from letsbookhotel.com doesn't always matches with the final price because it depends on the daily change in pesos. The place is run by an Italian ownership and staff, which means that the food is strictly Italian (one dinner a week is Mexican), and the entertainment (which was rather loud during some hours) is Italian focused as well. I also found the mattress uncomfortable. A bit isolated, you need a car if you want to go anywhere. The dinner wines were not the best. (yes, I know they were free) Overall no complaints, I would stay there again. The internet was not very good. Also the coffee available at meal times was bad. Sometimes when the rooms were cleaned, the supplies of bottled water and toilet paper were not re-stocked. to have wi-fi in the room you have to pay, it's free only in the lobby area, but the connection was a bit slow anyway. Smell of stagnant water coming from bathroom had to keep door to bathroom closed at all times. Noise till 11 pm every night from entertainment(?) area, very loud would only get worse in peak times also loud music every afternoon from Pool beach area. Not necessary . The food was the same everyday and not very exciting. No special or themed menu This was a big let down The beach is beautiful but you can't swim much there. Other resorts south of the ruins have much better sea front with waves where you can swim It is far from town , further than it looks on a map. liquor. Nothing. Was not well organised as a result of heavy rains. It's really not in Tulum. You have to drive to anything and everything. Facilities dated, very over priced. Poor location. Everything. This place was 1/10. Location is far away from tulum you need a car to go anywhere. Food sucks, room was standard fake mexican decor. Weird cause were in mexico.
