Our 2nd visit was every bit as good as the 1st. This time we were in 1 of the newest Mayan casitas which are more spacious. All are authentically built with amazingly well-designed & artistically decorated interior. Each has fridge with daily bottled water, filter coffee & milk. The shower is always hot, compensating for no hot tap on basins: chaps who wet shave please note! The surrounding garden & the pool are a delight. all reviews » The individual bungalows are exceptionally well appointed. We stayed in the first one built and were delighted by it's interior design, decor and appointments. Frig, coffee maker, coffee, sugar and real milk were appreciated. The pool was refreshing and such a surprise to find! The grounds and garden are a work in progress and the labyrinth to walk was so relaxing. And then there is the food! Dinner was outstanding - I had a bunch of different things including the Sopa Azteca which was exc. What a gorgeous surprise, this beautiful place in the middle of no where. Greeted by the wonderful hostess Valerie, the gardens are fabulous, the pool set amongst orange trees, our room a traditional style hut with all the comforts, super comfy new bed, fluffy pillows, cute bathroom& rocking chair. Delicious breakfast served ona lovely garden. A little gem, so delighted we found it, we even stayed 2 nights, to enjoy it more. The food was delicious also. Great value for money. Thank u Valeri. This is a wonderful small hotel where you stay in small Mayan style houses. They are surrounded by lowering plants and fruit trees that provide a lovely setting. The pool was a delight after the heat of Uxmal. Great location for an exloration of many Mayan ruins, the chocolate museum and caves of Lotun. The resteraunt also provides very good food. We enjoyed breakfast on the new patio. Valerie has created a great small hotel and resteraunt which we would highly recommend. Valerie, the owner, is a master at making guests feel welcome. Our stay fell on Valentine's Day and she not only had all the tables in the restaurant decorated, but had a live singer perform that night and handed out roses to the women. Above and beyond! Typical of places to stay in this area, there is only screen on the windows, so the privacy level is more limited. The rooms are basic but provide everything you need, including a coffee-maker, which was a real plus!. I stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed my time. Sleeping in nice equipped/ well done and super clean adobe hut / palapa, one can feel like a Maya and learn that air condition is not a must have when building clever. Everything excellent around this place, the pool, free breakfast (muy rico), dinner, super nice and helpful staff, and of course not to forget: Valerie, the owner how erecet this cosy place. So, I would give 11 out of 10 points if I could. The ambience is wonderful, the buildings are very characteristic of the Maya culture and truly comfortable, the reception very freindly and personal. Valerie, the owner, has done a great job at turning this land into a little paradise, complete with garden and pretty indigenous flowers. The restaurant is excellent, having breakfast or dinner on the terrace overlooking the hills is unforgettable. We will be back if we are ever again in teh area. Such a friendly place. All in all a wonderful part of our holiday. The bungalows in Maya - style are absolutely beautiful, dinner and breakfast were delicious. After our visit to Uxmal it was a cosy and quiet place to us. Valerie, the owner, is a lovely lady who likes to do a little small talk to her guests to make them feel comfortable. The owner and staff are very friendly. The food served at breakfast and at their restaurant were excellent. The experience of staying in one of those little "huts" was really interesting. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to travelers going to Uxmal. Hospatality,quaite palpa rooms,grounds ,excellent complamentary breakfast,at dinner had the the best Poc Chuc I have eaten in the Yucatan .the best for last the owner Valerie was wonderful all,around person. Nightly cock-crowing and dogs barking, but that comes with countryside stays. absolutely nothing!. A bit noisey because of closeness to the highway and busy with truck traffic. we liked it all.
