The 2nd reception guy who attended me was very courteous and make a first step at the hotel was great. The 1st guy was sour face and not friendly. As a hospitality industry, the 1st impression and make the rest of the day great is from the Front office....the way they talk and make the entire stay was excellent. He should be the Front office Manager. I did not get his name but, he got a daughter study in UITM Shah Alam. Even the room attendant was very courteous and act fast. This staff is valu.
all reviews » Within 10 minutes walk to attraction like Jongker Street, city centre, tourist attractions; rooms are spacious and clean, service is very good, food isn't anything special but there are lots of stalls and restaurants around that you will be spoilt for choice. Swimming pool at top floor, newspaper in the morning as standard, good value for money. Staff are friendly and polite. room is clean . I arrived at the hotel at 1pm , staff allowed me to check in around 1.30pm as soon as the room was ready . Staff did not hurry me to check out, which is good consideration. I like that their staff is quite friendly esp the receptionist. I like that they are quite near to the Jonker Street and also to the city centre like dataran pahlawan although it's not within walking distance. Actually I like everything!!! Especially the Reception staff name Mahirah with a smiley face good service!!!! I like the room. With the best prices!!! Clean places! The 1st step approached the counter was felt not welcoming by the front office staff. Just push me to another guy without explain proper ways as a hospitality industry. Breakfast - not much choice and the same everyday. The first morning, breakfast was cold noodles, cold sausage, choice of freshly eggs, toasts. Second day was an improvement, warm noodles, warm sausage and toast. Eggs is not on the menu!. Lighting in the room and shower roomis poor, should provide a light on top of the full length mirror in the room. Floor is cold , should provide a pair of disposable slipper. Breakfast needs to be improved. Their breakfast is quite poor. It taste quite nice, but there is not much choice and they didn't refill the empty ones. I went down at 930, the breakfast is from 830 to 1030. But by then there are a little condiments for porridge, no more scrambled eggs and sausages. If they can improve on this, it will be awesome. Another thing is the parking. There are limited parking space. A bit noisy.because facing the main road. none... For some reasons or other, there was no taxis waiting outside the main door. I was told to call one should I need a taxi. That we had to do the ironing outside where there was not facility to hang our ironed clothes.I should have carried the ironing board into my room. Lack of parking space but the security guy is very helpful. The elevator smells of moth balls. It's better to put air freshner. The carpet is a bit smelly. limited parking space and the lobby looks quite old. it should be renovated. Resturant small (sometime crowded during breakfast), room aircon noisy,counter staff staff insufficient. Got bit noise after 12am, maybe this hotel doing renovation. Breakfast area is too small and not enough to accommodate the guests and the food was not as good. the breakfast not so nice...air conditional cant adjust the temperature..the staff no bring me blanket after promise to send me afterthat... There are no transport services provided for customers to travel to other sites in Malacca from the hotel. -poor & slow connection of wi-fi,. Breakfast is not good at all. Very little variety. Have to upgrade. Room climate control was not working well. There is a heater in bathroom, but not functioning..cannot check in earlier around 1pm..no enough parking lot on peak season. 1. Lack of parking space. Front parking is only valid for luxury car. Not fair. 2. Central aircond cause cannot be adjust and not cold. 3. Lift is so slow. 4. Basically the drinks in the breakfast buffet is tasteless. Restaurant food was not up to standard, they couldn't even make a capuccino. a little far away from center, and outside road is very confusion, no zebra crossing for walking person. Pool to improve suitable for young kids. Room lighting , Parking insufficient. Limited parking. The renovation was not very well done. Certain features like the lift door, floor tiles and the lift floor were not properly done. So, it feels like an old hotel to me. The shower has no door, causing the floor to be wet everytime someone showers. - queue and signage on hotel reception counter are confused. - no greeting from front desk agents. - no explanation on check-in procedure especially payment detail. - lack of parking bays. - hair dryer was not functioning. The pool water looked murky and looked as though it was not well maintained. Breakfast also was very basic, should have more variety. Also my 3 children slept a room for 3 but they provided towels for only 2. This hotel has to improve on food and facilities. Shoukd provide more variety of breakfast . Lobby is dark when we check in in late night. I asked for just 1 more set of coffee and tea for the room and they asked for RM 5.00 and then just gave me 2 sugar sticks. The staff was so impolite and argued with me just for 2 more sugar sticks worth less than 5 cents. only one bus no 17 public transport if you want to go to jonker street / heritage side or travel back to bus sentral terminal,there isn't any chance for you to board the bus cos is 2nd bus stop from bus sentral to hotel,and bus no 17 is always crowded.bus no 17 is a loop service. The pool is so small. The lift is so old. Most importantly the air con is so cold!. Basin get choke. After complaining they do it but the problem recurred. limited parking space when its a super peak season, no drinking bottled water. i thought the pool was big but its merely considered as kids pool (10x40ft) i guess. Room not proper clean. The elevators are old. after 1am around room very noisy and scary because someone . knocking on the door . Can't control room temperatures due to centralize aircon. Water heater no function, call for repair & wait for 2 hours no one come.After come back from dinner, has to confront to the receptionist &again wait for the maintenance to repair. Had Breakfast once. Nothing much of choices and too expensive for the menu.
