The day we arrive,the guest well known of our arrivals,greet us welcomely. The location is near to the town,about 5 minutes,but away from hustle n bustle, was about 10 to 15 minutes to airport,it was strategic! The enviroment,was nice,but the some of the staff was only nice to foreign tourist but not to local tourist,I wonder why? But even so,some of them,like the front desk,the housekeeper and the gardener,they were nice. I stayed in the courtyard,I like the room very much,it was so comfy and .
all reviews » This was our first visit to Sarwak and Kuching. This hotel was just what we wanted. We did not want to stay in the modern high rise hotels near the water front yet not knowing the area we weren't able to find anything traditional further out of Kuching.Basaga Residences were ideal; although the hotel itself was situated within Kuching you felt that you were out in the countryside. The staff were extremly helpful in all aspects and the whole atmosphere was relaxing. Staff were excellent and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Having Brendon to organise tours and take us anywhere was brilliant with children. We were part of a group of 6 adults and 5 children and were able to get everywhere we wanted together. Food excellent and good menu. Nice atmosphere, basic but relaxed.Excellent value for money. My family (partner and 2 year old baby) stayed in this hotel. Since our arrival everything was ok. Friendly manager and friendly staff. The hotel was simple and clean as well. The food at the restaurant sas ok. The pool is not really big, but enough gor us. I would recommend it to all. I like the enviroment,,especially on my room outside view and poolside...it's locat at town area,it's is so convienence for me to go anywhere..**will stay at this hotel very soon again. Not far away from city, quite and located in a garden. Environment is perfect. The room interior design is not impressive but very comfortable. Huge king bed!. Ambience Food Serenity Central location, yet quiet. Location and Set up. No ironing facilities!. On some occasions we had to make sure that the staff understood what we were saying. In the restaurant there were some new staff and although they were very willing there were some occasions when they needed a little more guidence from the more experienced staff. Could do with a refresh; new cushions on outside furniture and freshening up of rooms. More sun loungers around the pool. It's not close to the city center : 15/20mn walk, and not an interesting one. Verandah bed mattress too soft and not so comfortable. Area to keep toiletries should be near the basin instead of above the WC. there should be a soap dish. Courtyard design should have a door to the toilet and the entrance to the courtyard too narrow and lonely. The WiFi was basically not working. No indoor slippers so had to walk with barefoot.. but no big deal. -No wifi unless if you're staying near to the lobby. In the room where I stayed there was a curtain instead of a door of the bathroom. We were on ground floor and upstairs people were walking loudly. Abit annoying at times. Porter service 24/7. private courtyard room. Apart from being a small and convenient resort, Basaga is also a bar and a restaurant. A lot of people came and drinking at night. On the first night I heard continuous uncontrollable laugh .....???? drunken n euphoric ??. Subsequent nights were okay. Not suitable for Muslim. A lot of liquor at bar in the restaurant. Staff is not really friendly (not bad just not very welcome), swimming pool is extremely not clean. Room is ar from the reception, therefore if you carry heavy bags, it will be annoying. City pick up cost me 12rm and airport delivery costed me 25rm. (If you book directly from them, you can get free oneway airport transfer). The flat screen tv has no settlite therefore the signal is not good. Useless. Check in could be simpler Sleepers needed for outdoor bath at courtyard rooms No covered walkways for courtyard rooms. Can't leave the room when it rains!. No Food !!!!! at night time very unfriendly personal the week before we where there and it was perfect now a disaster.
