I liked the spacious rooms with pleasant views of the green forest and the friendly and helpful staff. The General Manager was approachable and she was very friendly. We were not charged for an extended check out as we found out when it came to settle our bill. The IT Manager went out of his way to help us with our queries regarding shopping for a smart phone. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It doesn't have anything really close by but is a short walk to town/Centrepoint Mall or get a taxi for 15 MYR. Solid hotel on a small hill above the coty of Kota Kinabalu with friendly and helpful staff. Taxis were most of the time available in front of the hotel. In general I really enjoied our stay, but our room wasn't 4 stars worthy. As it was a standart room, there was no wifi or internet in the room, it smelled funny and we didn't towls one of the days. But would stay there aain anytime. Be careful with the standard rooms, they have no windows or wifi. However wifi in the hotel in general is bad so not worth upgrading the room in order to get access as we did. The remote location of the hotel is - whill very calm - not optimal if you spend some time in the city and plan to coming back to your room before heading out again for dinner - it takes about a 15mins walk or 10min taxi ride to get to the tourist areas which can be a bit cumbersome if you do that mkre than once a day. We had to switch room like 4 times in one week. The staff was partly rude (not the front manager, she was lovely!). The gym did not have air condition, so weird.. Few sunbeds at the pool. The room is not too nice like in the picture, not friendly staff..We have to wait for long time to check in and even check out! Staff not smile to us even we do so.. No staff attend us at the Tangerine Restaurant..we have to wait at the counter before we can enter the restaurant. the variety of food should be spread. There was review about the massage of the hotel. Actually it is a seperated running massage, which is not so impressive actually. I thought rooms generally are available at least latest by 3pm afternoon. Attitude of staff when we arrived are rooms were not ready even thou we arrived after 2pm,they said they would be at least another hour,they then booked me into a standard room instead of a standard superior room,they changed that only to my astonishment there was already a person in the room,eventually an hour or so later i was in the room i booked,tried to get beers in resteraunt while we were waiting to be told they have no cold beers the service was terrible. Room given was in the Basement, With no window. The location. Aircond not cold. Swimming pool not maintained.
