The location is good, excellent foodstalls just 50 meters away - so you don't need the breakfast which is included in some room prices. "cottage rooms" nice and cozy - free WiFi only in the building's centre, not at the far end. Some rooms right near the pool which you might like or not. Solid wooden floors and doors, comfortable bed and clean linen, well-functioning refrigerator, sufficient space for two adults, balconey, quite location. Breakfast was good and price was reasonable. WiFi was reliable.

Friendly staff and always willing to help clean room but wished we'd booked the ground floor room. we stayed in a family room of 6. its comfortable, clean and spacious. we have 3 young kids so the pool is great! we love it and would come again!. Very clean and very preserved building. the location is central, near to the ferry terminal as well as Penang hill and Batu Ferringhi. Very nice hotel and good place in city. We had asked twice but only got an offer when checking out in order to go to another hotel. No WLAN in rooms on far end of the building - check first and ask for another room if necessary!. I like to practice speaking Bahasa Malaysia when I'm in the country, but most staff are foreigners. musty toilet, no access from parking from the back of the hotel. Not much bad to say, just stayed in Penang for 1 night. Bathroom could do with some minor repairs (by tradesman). A little bit old furniture in rooms :-). Tv channels very limited. Door was very thin as we could hear people talking along the corridor. A very strange omission from the room facilities. In the Standard there is no refrigerator - not even a small one. I queried this and was told they were only in the higher grade rooms. In a hot climate, I would think it is a vital requirement, not an 'extra'. TV is useless unless you speak Bahasa Malay (6 channels only) and there is little between the ceiling and floor above. A family with small children stomped like a herd of elephants. The hotel should book families with small children on the ground floor so this isn't an issue. A simple breakfast should be included for the price paid. Linens were clean but rather old (bedsheet, towel). Bathroom and the floor need to be 'touch up' little but. The bathroom door can't close fully. Hope it can be fix when my next visit. the bathroom need maintenance. Don't like the toilet. It's quite noisy when u have kids running at the corridor because its a old building. The room just fair. Not so clean. Timings for dinner are restrictive. Staff gave wrong information about the closing timings and then did not helped us even when we had small children and it was raining heavily outside. the street in front of hotel is one way traffic must be take around street to reach the hotel air conditioning sound make uncomfortable. Room No.220 is noisy due to densely laid out air con. Toilet facilities not so neat. Air cond not cool enough Mosquitos. The shower curtain in the bathroom was broken. The shower head needed fixing or changing to a better quality one. very noisy upstairs because of the wooden floor and the cleaning staff working every morning with walkie talkie to loud in the corridor. Maintenance of the room. During heavy rain, water poured into the room. The Wi-fi is damn slow, please do upgrade. Family room got some expensive. Staff super unhelpful, but manager did apologize when we complaints during check out. - noisy surrounds/guests - no soundproofing! - inefficient hse keeping - room not cleaned for 1 whole day - low water pressure plus wc tank cover not properly closed - no hand/facial tissues provided - too small laundry bag - dirty shower curtain - patchy curtains - no cable/astro service - no daily greetings from front office...always busy at screen. Very old, not up to standard with the price. Lousy customer service. Parking very far away from the entrance. The hotel facilities are very old very poor maintenance, no care about the room cleaning specialy the bathrooms, not value for money. many mosquito. Heritage Hotel without effort to maintain, not up to the average standard of a normal hotel with high rate.
