With its great location in the old town, the hotel is close to important historic memorials and churches which are religious and literary centers where the Slavic Christian education and culture are established. all reviews » First thing I'd like to mention is that the staff is perfectly helpful and warm. Always asking about your needs during the stay without being insistent. They were amazing! Furthermore, the hotel is located right in the oldtown, slightly below down the historical castle gate, which is a very good location in Ohrid. On the other hand, there is not much to talk about the lake view the hotel has. Especially, if you are lucky enough to pick one of the rooms on the upstairs, the view is amazing... Op. Absolutely the BEST, Super Friendly, most comfortable, clean,quiet and well positioned 5 star family-operated hotel.Perfectly situated in the Old Town - 2minutes easy walk to town center and market place (taxi fare from center/market place approx 1Eur).5mins walk to historic sites - great views of lake and old fortress.Modern rooms air-conditioned, comfortable beds, self-catering kitchen facilities with beautiful garden terrace for meals and indoor/outdoor dining. The owner is REALLY helpful - we got all the hints about visiting Ohrid including the restaurants, places to visit, Macedonian quisine etc. Additionally guide books in English are available in the villa. Nice staff. They do not offer breakfast. However, i don't think it is a real minus. Even if they were offering a breakfast, i might have chosen to have one in the cafes just by the lake. none. nothing at all !. The bed was uncomfortable to me but my husband liked it b/c he likes a firm mattress. The towels are very rough as they are dried on the line and not in a dryer but that is pretty standard in most of the smaller hotels in Eastern Europe. It was poor not to have breakfast in the Hotel. Everything was great. This hotel is located up on a hill near the fortress. If you will drive everywhere, then the location is fine because there is parking only 50m from the hotel, but if you are going to walk, the 15 min uphill walk to the hotel is dreadful, especially after a night of drinking. For the same price, I have stayed at another hotel in Ohrid that was along the lake, much better view and location in my opinion.
