Everything! This is my first (and only) stay in "riokan", so I can not compare it with other "riokans", but I really enjoyed "riokan experience" in Annex Katsutaro. Very, very, very friendly and helpful staff!!! Very convenient, useful and cute map of surrounding area is provided for all guests. Good location (close to metro and train stations, go... what people say » od connection with Narita airport, 24h-open convenience stores nearby). Pleasant, enjoyable surroundings. Very comfortable "floor-bed". :-) All neces - Lovely, clean small hotel, with large, bright rooms by Japanese standard. The staff is very helpful and they speak good English. It is located in a nice, quiet environment close to shops, restaurants and about 10 minutes walk from the train station. The Nippori station is on the main "circle" line which takes you to Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and other places of interest without the need to change the trains. The hotel has a nice breakfast option for reasonable price. We liked it a lot and if we

I've spent 8 nights at this wonderful ryokan, with my daugther and a friend of her (both teenagers) and... we really liked everything! Our room was large, comfortable, and full of light. Large futons, nice pillows, heavy curtains to block the light from entering the sleeping room, made us sleep very well. The streets around the ryokan, despite liv... what people say » ely during the day, become silent and quite during the night, allowing a deep sleep. We enjoyed both the japanese and the continental breakfast. The s - This hotel is in a really great location. I would stay again without hesitation.

We had a 1 month trip around Japan :- Tokyo(Asakusa), Tokyo(Yokahama), a cruise, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Osaka & back via Helsinki. Throughout Japan we were impressed by the politeness, friendliness & cleanliness & we are sure all hotels at all levels meet the same standards. This was a traditional Ryokan & needed getting used to ! It w... what people say » as perfectly located right in the middle of the oldest suburb of Tokyo, close to a temple, market street & river. It is however a unique experienc - Hotel is a quiet and peaceful haven in a busy, interesting area, just minutes away from many things to see and excellent traditional shopping. Staff are helpful, although it will help if you can speak a little Japanese. I have stayed in their tatami rooms before and this time stayed in a single (western style) room which was spacious for a single. Good to have free wifi, unlike many hotels. Tip - buy the koto cd at the reception desk as a memento.

I've been staying at ryokan Sansuiso 2-3 times a year for the past 15 years. The value for the price is great. Don't expect the Ritz here, this is a small traditional style Japanese inn, the tatami mat rooms are small with fouton for sleeping. In the past few years they have upgraded to non-pay, flat screen TV's and free WiFi. There are a few ... what people say » rooms with full toilet/bath, but most share a communal bath/shower and toilet (single person use at a time not communal bathing). They are more than kind, and the services offered are definitely appropriate to the price. Over the course of our time in Tokyo this place absolutely felt like home and we would recommend it without thin
