  Japanese style home stay :) clean room and friendly staff. although location is far from city, there is direct JR Bus from Kyoto station to the place. take about 40 mins though. fyi for other traveler as if take JR bus from Kyoto station, alight at Takahanacho stop then walk back about 100m then cross the other side of road. will find easily. staf... what people say » f speak little english and friendly. enjoy my stay :) - Owner and staffs are so friendly. I think he waited for our coming after I confirmed arrival time because while we were walking to find Ryokan and almost getting lost, he called us from in front of Ryokan. I was so impressed. I got a big clean room with garden view and not close to the street so it was quite and peaceful. This room is what I think when stay in ryokan. Love it.

  Great location and service. A secluded, traditional Japanese experience for the western-world traveler who wants something off the tourist path. Nearby temple is a must see at fall. Rooms in the annex are very nice, with more space than you'd think from the description. Ours included an outdoor bath even though the website description did not sp... what people say » ecify. It was great. - We stayed in the room with private outdoor bath because we are not comfortable with the public bath. Overall the place is nice, staffs are friendly and the meals are excellent. The scenery is nice. My husband and I took a morning walk about 1 hour to explore the nearby places.

  Staff are very friendly, warm and attentive. They prepare the room and heat it up before our arrival so that the moment we enter, it is nice and comfy. During cherry blossom, the scenery is fantastic, you will be able to have you meal by the river underneath cherry trees, looking - This was my favourite place to stay. The staff were so accommodating. The rooms were beautifully large. The onsen was clean and luxurious. The food was yummy. The bedroom faced the river and mountains. There are some great temples and shrines close by and some nice hiking tracks. A tip for getting there. Catch the JR bus from Kyoto Station (rank 3) until Yamashiro Stop and they can pick you up. Otherwise a taxi is only $25 AUD.
