It is beautiful, very clean and has an onsen that I enjoyed every night. In fact, I ended up booking one night and stayed four. It is just a few minutes from Dogo Hot Spring and Dogo Park, and only a tram ride or walk to the castle and downtown area. Hisa, the owner, is very friendly and helpful. I just can`t say enough - it was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly kind and make you feel at home. Onsen inside was relaxing. The staff went out of their way to make my stay fun and accompanied me to a traditional tea ceremony. Best value for money accommodation with traditional japanese experience. Ideal to unwind for a few days. Nice restaurants nearby. Would love to go back. Thank you.

They call themselves a hostel, but it's the most amazing hostel I've ever stayed at. They also have their own Japanese Baths in house. Free Japanese breakfast. Loved it! Would return in a heartbeat. In my opinion, this Ryokan's dormitory is very comfortable and has a clerk who is kind and can speak in english very well. It is the way to enjoy a japanese Ryokan by reasonable price. In addition, Ryokan is close to the arcade, Densha station and Dogo Onsen. So it is available to wear a japanese traditional cloth at the arcade. The Staff = huge plus (Michiko-San's English is awesome and she welcomed up warmly) The location is great if you are headed to Matsuyama for the Dogo Onsen area, which is the best in Japan. Their onsen was warm and cozy Their free breakfast!! The dorm rooms were comfortable, with huge down comforters and comfortable futons. old ryokan very well maintained with 24/7 onsen, confortable traditional rooms partialy with tarasses overlooking river with table and chairs included, big common part smartly divided for different activities, exceptionaly nice and helpful staff. I loved it there!. I really enjoyed my stay at this ryokan. Really friendly, english speaking staff, really clean and beautiful rooms and restrooms and a great onsen, and all for just a small fee. The best stay on my trip in Japan so far, and it's a pity I could not stay longer. Nice location, close to Dogo Onsen. I was in the Japanese dormitory and I met very nice people to chat. A Japanese breakfast is served, but you can also cook your meal. I strongly recommand this ryokan when visiting Mastuyama. My Japanese friend said he was regretful to not choose this hostel, this is exactly the hostel which travelers are looking for. It has the charm of a traditional ryokan, but also has modern facilitie. Plus, the proprietors speak excellent English. The place is a little hard to fond, so check the ryokan information at the train stop when you come here. everything is fine. Nothing. Nothing. That I stayed only for so short. Hard to find in a hire car in pouring rain! Signage outside really could be better because we went past it a number of times. A small but annoying thing like a charging for a locker. Nothing to report. Look out for noisy rooms, you may not sleep well. Location is hard to find.
