I stayed at Kyoto Tower Hotel for two nights during May. The greatest thing about this hotel is that it's very near to kyoto station and bus stop. So it's really easy for travellers to buy a one-day bus sight-seeing ticket to tour around all kyoto sights in convenience. And with JR pass, it's easy to travel to Nara and Osaka via railway. The hotel is located under the Kyoto tower, and upon entry, free admission tickets to the tower are given, which proved to be a great experience. The building .

The bed is a bit small for couples, though it's still comfortable for us. - No Wifi in the rooms. restaurant and breakfast are a bit expensive, but you have no problem finding a good place to eat outside. I reserved a non-smoking room and none were available. They used a room deodorizer which helped a lot, but it was disappointing to not get the non-smoking room when you reserve at least one month in advance. Accessing wifi in the room was impossible. The only place it could be accessed was in reception and even then was extremely slow. Nothing I didn't like. Breakfast (as in the case of Urbaine Executive Hiroshima) or at least coffee (as in the case of Chisum Hotel at Tokyo) on the house would help. The room is real small. A bit noisy once you are out of your room. However observation tower at 100 meters height with free admission ticket was a deal. Smell of cigarette smoke during certain time in the rooms but it's not a major problem because the we can open the sliding door for fresh air. Our room was a bit small but functional, and a couple of people in our party would have liked to be closer to Kyoto's downtown. Nothing at all!.
