We stayed at this hotek for two nights. And it was easy to walk there with our backpacks from Kyoto station. I google it then got the map from tourist information at the station and the staff just recomfirmed us how to get there. Only 15 min walk. Staff are very friendly and also allow us to leave our luggage there after check out. There are tea coffee and even some pastry in the morning :-) room is basic but comfortable and have a balcony with view. There is only wifi at the lobby. But didnt b.
all reviews » My sister and I stay for 8 nights and we loved the place. The staff is extremely helpful and nice (even if they have problems communicating in English), the fact that there is a common place with fridge and that you get tea and water for free and even croissants for breakfast, the cleanliness the rooms and how central the location is. We highly recommend this place for people who want to explore Kyoto and surroundings for a few days. Single rooms are quite spacious, very clean, staff is very friendly and welcoming, really enjoyed the complientary tee and coffee in the lobby :) Great location - walking distance to various interestring sites (Gion district, temples, shrines, downtown area, Kyoto JR station and Keihan Reilway stations). I really recommend this hotel and will definetly book it for my next stay in Kyoto :). Nice ensuite room, clean and comfortable. Reception personal was very nice and helpfull, especially the lady! Location was good as well, 15 minutes walking from the train station, and 15 minutes walking to Gion stop. Bus stop is very close, less than 5 minutes. Free tea and coffe facilities. The hotel felt like a home, with guests chatting in the dining area. the room is quite big comparing to the regular size of room in Japan. There are coffee, tea and other kitchen supplies available almost 24 hrs, plus even though they told that no meal provided in the morning but there are bread for breakfast. And what make us more comfortable with staying here, the receptionist is very lovely and warm-welcomed. The hotel is old, but it is very clean and the staffs are super-friendly. Not directly in the city center, but easy to walk in 10-15 min, or there are 3 bus lines passing by the hotel. The directions to the hotel isn't accurate. It's easy to get lost from the Kyoto Station. Kawaramachi Dori is a very long street. The hotel is probably around 20 minutes from the station. The wifi is available only at the lobby, but it's ok. the hot water doesn't work well, on and off while i was taking shower. however, not a problem to me at all for its killing price!. The bathroom is very small. And it could be noisy. Being 185cm, the shower was a bit small. Otherwise only positive!. Wifi should be available in room. Everything was fine. no abat-jour in the room. A little far from Kyoto station and you have to take a bus to go to every attraction nearby. There's only one PC computer in the ground-floor lounge, and wifi is only available on the ground floor. No internet in rooms. Furniture a bit older, but ok. Remote controlls of air condition and TV have only Japanese language. Far from the nearest train station and no internet access in the room. Only wifi enabled in common area near lobby. Stool instead of a chair. No wifi in room. Smell in room, esp at bed, blanket...... No so-called "service". it's more like a family inn, so everything is just basic... Tiny, tiny bathroom...

Rooms are cleaned weekly, including a change of towels and bedsheets. An extra change of towels is available at an additional charge. The entrance of the hotel will be locked from 23:00 to 07:00. A key will be provided upon check-in. Please note, full payment must be made upon check-in. Not all rooms can accommodate extra beds (Japanese futon mattresses). If you wish to use extra futon, please check with the hotel about their availability and the price at time of booking. If going to the hotel by taxi, tell the driver to go to "Kawaramachi-Rokujo agaru Ichihime-jinja (shrine)". The hotel is opposite the shrine. The hotel can be reached using Kyoto city buses #205, #17, and #4, departing from the A2 stop at the bus terminal located in front of the Karasuma Exit of Kyoto Station. Get off at Kawaramachi-Gojo (the 4th stop). Go back (south) 200 metres, and the hotel will be on the opposite side of the street.
