Our family of 4 had the apt near San Samuele. The 2 bdrms were on the 2nd floor and the kit/dining, livingroom were on the 3rd. It was large (for european standards) and modern with new appliances (incl washing machine-no dryer and a dishwasher), quiet a/c in most rooms (w/remote), nice balcony w/table in back, king bed in master and twins in the other(very comfortable), multiple closets. The apt has good lighting (except for the bathroom) which we always find to be a problem in Europe-any coun.
all reviews » The communication from the charming owner was excellent! We had no phone or internet here for four days leading up to our trip, so everything had to be passed via our daughter. This presented no problem. We remained in communication by text right up to the time we arrived in Piazzale Roma ready for the ten minute walk to the flat, and she was exactly where she said she would be. She couldn't do enough to help us: showing us how everything in the flat worked, providing maps and explaining loc. We stayed in the San Polo apartment perfectly located in the middle of the city 2 minutes from Rialto Bridge and 15 mins walk from all the main sights. My husband and I travelled with another couple and there was enough space. We were warmly welcomed by Rosa after our very delayed flight (travelled in February). She was extremely informative and provided lots of info including maps and a list of restaurants and bars. The accommodation is tucked away on a tiny street and therefore can be difficu. We stayed for a long weekend in the Samuele apartment that is located in a nice quiet street within very easy walking distance of the key attractions. The Apartment was very clean, comfortable, well equipped and very spacious. All linen was provided together with some unexpected extras: coffee, biscuits, sugar, cooking oil, toilet paper etc. Serena was incredibly helpful and professional throughout the process - she sent e-mails very soon after the booking and again just before we travelled, . The apartment we stayed in was lovely-the building is old, of course but the unit seemed very newly remodeled. It was very spacious, clean and had all of the amenities we could ask for. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, extra pillows and comforters, etc. The location was good, too- quiet residential area with bakeries and cafes nearby. Rosa was wonderful and met us at the actv dock and led us directly to the apartment, where she provided us with maps, restaurant and sightseeing recommen. This was the first time we had travelled independantly and were anxious, but we need not have worried as everything about our experience was great. Communication with Serina was superb. We were met and taken to the apartment, which was moments from San Marco, yet quiet location. The apartment was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and moments from supermarket and central for the whole of the city. If you are anxious as we were, about booking online independantly, book with confidence Sarai apartment. Extremely helpful welcome by owner Serena who met us as we arrived by boat from airport and showed us to the apartment and explained everything we needed to know. Beautiful apartment in a fabulous location. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated and with excellent facilities. Very comfortable beds and spacious rooms, excellent heating. The perfect location to explore the heart of Venice. Highly recommended. 1. The apartment was situated in the center of Venice, just a couple of minutes to walk from the San Marco-square. 2. The contact with the owner - and the reception when we arrived the city. The very best ! 3. The apartment in itself. Very nice and comfortable ! And the air-condition worked ! This was a perfect apartment in central Venice. Great kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Warm. Lots of Venice guidebooks. Local map with restaurants, shops and useful things marked. Great wifi. We were met by the charming and organized hostess (Rosa). Sarai apt was great! Serena met us at the waterbus and escorted us to the apt. She gave us helpful local information and welcomed us with a bottle of bubbly and sweet treats. We really enjoyed the location, comfort and facilities of Sarai apartment. It is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of San Marco. A wonderful experience, visiting Venice for the first time. The apartment was excellent, good size, stylish and well located in San Marco convenient for St Marks and other attractions. The meet at Rialto, warm welcome and tourist advice was valuable. The kitchen was fully equipped and made cooking in occasionally very easy. Spacious and comfortable. Perfect place for a family with two children. Venice can be a very expensive place to eat and drink....although we fully expected this! There are places where you can buy snacks/drinks at a reasonable prices, but meals (and particularly drinks) in restaurants are generally quite expensive. The only complaint we have is that the shower water pressure was fairly weak, but we realize that nothing can really be done about water supply to an old building.Nothing. Nothing - it was brilliant!. Nothing at all. I found the bed was too hard but my husband loved sleeping on the firm mattress. The towels could have been softer by using some fabric softener. Having to leave. There was nothing about the apartment to dislike. Nothing particular. I had instructions on how to get there with the ferry however at the ferry stop they somehow directed us to the wrong platform so instead of taking 10 minutes from the station, it took 2 hours. No fault of the owners but very frustrating. The apartment was on the outskirts of San Marco and I guess we would have preferred to be a bit closer to San Marco square. Nothing!. Nothing. Having to come home!. nothing. Slight lack of views. It's not quite convenient due to sharing one bathroom. (2 bedrooms). A bed side table with a reading light would have been useful. The kitchen was very small, with no oven; but then there were many restaurants very close by to the apartment. Nothing. Pillows were hard. Leaving!. None. Nothing. Cost.
