The location was excellent, out of the busy area, a beautiful walk to and from the hotel to San Marco (15mins approx) with the best view of Venice that so many people will not get to see. The breakfast was good with a large selection and was a perfect way to start the day. The hotel was in a lovely quiet area, away from the hussle and bussle of San Marco. Its a 20min walk into the main square or a 5min boat ride.

Who doesn't like a cup of tea or coffee before going down for breakfast !?. not really "on the canal". i wasnt too convinced about the location on the hotel. Worth considering a tea/coffee maker in rooms.Breakfast area was small. Restaurant menu was quite limited. There was a bar was attached to the restaurant but it would have been nicer to have a separate bar/lounge area where you could relax after a day of sight-seeing. I would have expected this from a 4 star hotel especially as the hotel is quite remote from other cafes/bars. wifi connection only now and then accessible.Really poor breakfast. Restaurant very expensive, some availability of catering to late evening would be good in view of number of flights that arrive late evening to airport - we were cheerfully made toasted sandwiches in the bar on request but some choice and to our room would have been ideal.We found the breakfast food very good but the evening meal was disappointing and expensive - dining room was in a marquee area and was very cold with no heating. Venice can be cold and damp in October. Restaurant ran very slow service, being able to accommodate only 4tables at a time!. Far from down town (S.m). The bed. It was two little beds put together which made it uncomfortable in the middle.Everything was fine except the restaurant, not the value for the money, waiting forever, clearly understaffed in the restaurant. restaurant although was not fully booked did not want to serve food until 9 o'clock pm. Price - but this was due to the weak pound sterling.
