It was couple minutes to water bus station, very easy to get to the town center. Hotel location in a very quiet place.Kind staff, good location, close (5-10 minutes walk) to bus and railway station. We were in the apartments about 10 minutes from the main hotel. It wasgood to be able to cater for ourselves a little (given the state of thepound that was a bonus) and to be closer to the centre. The room was bigand really excellent value for the money.since there is no hot water on the day of our arrival, the hotel administration offered to us an appartment, approx. 10 min walk from the hotel away. It was nice and clean. The only problem was that a water boiler was directly in the room and was running 24 hours. It was loud. . The area in which the hotel was located--seemed to give us a true look at life in Venice--not just what you see in the large tourist areas. We were given a room 10 minutes away, but in their apartments. We weren't expecting a kitchenette, so we were really happy about that. Good location. Close to vaporetto stop and railway station. Hotel itself is close to train station but the room, the hotel gave to use was not in hotel location itself but further far (10-15 minutes) of walk and crossing 3 bridges in our baggages. I was not prepared for the climb up 5 floors of stairs.Very small bathroom. The bathroom was overall clean, but there was a pretty dirty cove in thewall. Just minor lack of attention to detail. The alley is a little noisy - but it was New Year. Rooms were a little small and with no elevator it was somewhat difficult getting our suitcases up the steps. The last evening the power went out, so our food spoiled in the fridge and we had no electricity for getting ready in the morning. The 1030 am check-out is a bit early. Also, someone came into our room at 9 in the morning our second morning there - how they got a key and who it was, we have no idea - but it was creepy. Also, the night porter the night we arrived was very rude. The room was a smoking one, and there was a smell of cigaretes fromprevious customers. Rooms can be bigger. Some staff were not very friendly. hard to find...might be inevitable in venice though... ...just the breakfasts....I don´t like croissant so much...but it is not real problem.Travelling back to the hotel from the apartments for breakfast. noisy guests staying in next door rooms, sleep was disturbed, maybe staff could have said something to them (ask them to keep the noise down as was quite late at night). no kettle or fridge. Very thin walls.The room is too small. A very small refrigerator would be desirable. a bit smelly room, but clean and warm. Non-smoking room was full of ashtrays and specific smell of tobacco. But in general it was ok. The air conditioning was turned off, making the room warm and stuffy over night. It was turned on again in the morning. The television remote controls did not work. Breakfast was very poor.Orange juice would have been great at breakfast. Funny smell... Also, really hard to find first time. Difficult to find the hotel, carry your own bag up stair in the dark, small room, air cond was not working and the breakfast was very poor. Directions to hotel were unclear, I will be posting detailed directions and review on tripadvisor. Stafff did not tell me that the apartment was only 2 Vaporetto stops away, from S. Marcuola to Ca' D'Oro, which is much easier than crossing 4 bridges with Luggage! Mosquitoes are like Vampires, breakfast was very cheap. No Safe in room, towels were pieces of tablecloth.price for only room left with just a bed was high, breakfast was small in amount but nice. the towels were linen instead of towels. Staff was not friendly.Hotel Compartments located approx 15minutes walk from checkin. Cooking facilities poor, AirConditioning unit failed to operate. No means of lighting gas hob. No information on Breakfast times or facilities available. Bugs. But thats what you get traveling in the summer.Cleanliness of the hotel bathrooms.Our request for separate beds was not met. The hotel claims to be only 5 minutes walk from St. Lucia Station,Venice. However, it took about 15 minutes for the walk. Moreover, wewere not living in the hotel. The hotel staff told us to go to theirapartments which are even far away. We had to cross four bridges (withour heavy luggages) in order to find the room which is located at acorner of a very narrow street.
