My husband I booked a 1-bed apartment. Due to the unexpected snow and high tide this apartment wasn't available so we were upgraded to Ca'Paradiso a 2-bed apartment overlooking the canal. We were so pleased with our apartment. It had everything we needed and the view was amazing - it was like looking at a postcard! It was exceptionally cold during our stay but the central heating worked really well in the apartment. There are lots of shops and restaurants close by, a reasonably priced supermar.
all reviews » Fantastic location and spacious 2 bedroom apartment minutes walk from St Marks and Rialto in the heart of Venice but tucked away down a quite side st (Calle del Paradiso).1 minute walk to the local co op which is amazing ,delli, butcher,bakery wines and spirits etc and a great cake shop few doors back.Kitchen,lounge,dining room and one bedroom all have windows over looking the small canal T junction which is constantly busy from early morning to late with all sorts of boats and Gondola's...grea. We were met by Marco who took us to the apartment and showed us how everything worked. Before that the owners had e mailed us to let us know who to contact. This was really helpful. The apartment was very practical and comfortable with a good sitting room. The kitchen was well equipped . The apartment is in a small street, opposite a bar , which was useful, and there are two good places to eat just around the corner and a supermarket. It really could not have been more convenient. The staff at the Hotel da Bruno who manage the apartments are exceptional. From the moment we arrived they were attentive, informative, friendly and very professional. The apartment was on the fifth floor with a charming roof balcony that overlooks Venice. Apartment was clean, comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, wireless, and washing machine. Air conditioner worked great!. Venice is a very easy city to get lost in. However once we locZted the hotel Bruno we were always able to find this apartment. We were two couples we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the outside balcony, which overlooked the canal. Doesn't get better than sipping wine, eating wonderfulcheeses(purchased at neighbourhood food store) and watching the gondolas floating by. Heaven!!. We booked triple room and got a spacious one bed room apartment near Ponte Minich with separate kitchen and living room. Extremely spacious for Venice standard and very clean. Staff at the main hotel Hotel da Bruno was very helpful. We would stay there again any time. Very good location for exploring Venice. Received communication beforehand about preferred meeting place, as well as detailed instructions to meeting place. I travelled with my mum and aunts for a three week holiday. Venice was our second to the last stop and we all fell inlove upon seeing this flat. Big space, enough room for the five of us. It was very close to Piazza San Marco and canal where you can take a water taxi. The apartment was very central with the Rialto bridge 2 blocks away. The air conditioner was grate in the heat. Very nice apartment despite initial appearance. Hotel Bruno porter was very nice and carried our heavy bags up the very steep stair case. The staff is helpful , the room is spacious, clean and is fully loaded with kitchen wares. It is great for family trip. The resturaunt next door that the hotel staff recommended is excellent, serve typical Venice food. We had dinner twice there. The apt was well located and the facilities everything we expected at the price we paid which was more or less in line with the very high price of Venice.Of particular note was the assistance provided by Paulo which was very much appreciated. The apartment was extremely spacious for 2/3 people; and was presented as extremely clean with every modern comfort available. It was in a great location, and within a comfortable walking distance of any part of this very special city. Access to the apartment was through a narrow alley, but it's safe. The unit was kept clean and the beds were good. A decent living area and a full kitchen was a plus point to the apartment. It can easily accomodate up to 7 adults. The owners were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful. We were only there for a few days but it would be a great place to stay for an extended period of time. There was everything in the apartment that one would need. Great location on the canal, handy to all main attractions, close to Supermarket and lots of restaurants and bars. Only one minor thing was its not got a stand in shower but has a bath with a shower/tap mixer and the water pressure is not great (believe this is a common problem on the island).Like I say its not major problem and the instant gas boiler gives endless hot water. We would have preferred two bathrooms but that can't be fixed!! I have no negatives to write about this place. It's a thumbs up!!. Nothing to complain about. 2 flights of stais to get up and a bit of a walk from the bus stop at Rialto - everything great perfect place to stay in venice. The shower is fairly small and big persons might have difficulty showering. The apartment is old, with quite a few cracks on the floor. The heating system was not fully functional, but portable systems were made available. Expect power trips and multiple resets of the modem for WIFI. It would be better to either not provide toiletries than to provide the tiny and very average shampoo and soaps. Leave the washing machine instuctions in English. Fridge did not work. A little musty during rainy fall weather. We did not get fresh towels mid way during our stay, that is our only complaint. Hot water sometimes dissapeares in a wrong moment. There seemed to be a lack of maintenance, the one couch was broken and the toilet seat loose. The internet signal came and went. The stairs to the apartment and within it are quite steep, so I wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues. Nothing. The bed was a little too firm for me. Nothing. Stairs to get to the apartment and in the apartment. They didn't bother us at all, but wouldn't be good for very small children or anyone who has difficulties with stairs. On the weekend, the apartment we had overlooks a restaurant below which is quite busy and noisy, but this seemed to only be on Friday and Saturday evenings. Otherwise apartment was excellent. Lots of stairs to carry luggage; Shower is weak, took ages to wash my hair. Not possible to leave windows open due to mosquitoes, uncomfortable bed. that there was no guidelines how to make the heater work, had cold water the two firste mornings, had to call in staffmembers to help, the other mornings we managed ourselves, had seen what they did were also in nead of a sharp knive to cut our loaves. The prices in Venice are a little higher than in other Italian cities but the bad thing about that is it's very difficult to find a good restaurant with tasty dishes so you get no value for money. Nothing. Rain but no one could predict that!. There is nothing bad to say about this place. Clean but not in corners like the shower. Very small shower with very low water pressure. No real view, but on a nice street. prefer bathroom with shower rather than bath, & also have personal preference for softer bed & pillows as they were quite firm.
