The location in the neighbourhood of the Salute church is ideal. When arriving with the vaporetto at the stops of Academia or Zattere, you can go with your luggage trolley to this B&B without CLIMBING over one bridge, just roll ! The street is residential and excessively quiet. This B&B is situated in a small old Palazzo, beautyfully furnished. The reception by the lady of the house was very friendly and ...she helps you with the luggage over the (steep) stairs ! The room and the bathro.
all reviews » Probably the nicest place my girlfriend and I stayed at during our trip through Italy. (Admittedly, we were traveling on a budget and mostly renting through airbnb.) This is a true B&B, with Massimo and his wife coming in the morning to make us coffee. They were very friendly, telling us to make ourselves at home and opening up the various cakes and pastries in the kitchen. Venice is expensive, but Ca' Santo Spirito was fairly good value for city. We were really pleased with the B&B. It is very clean, comfortable beds, plentiful breakfast & the owner Silvia was very helpful & friendly. It is only one stop away from San Marco on the waterbus & there are also restaurants about a 5-10 minute walk away on the waterfront at Zattere. It's in a quiet road & is easier to find if you get off at the Salute waterbus stop, as the road is not marked from the other end. Although the location is toward the eastern tip of Venice, it is very accessible via the ferry boats that regularly service the grand canal. The place can be described more as a hotel than a bed and breakfast place with its large bedroom and large, very clean and modern toilet. The breakfast is very traditional Italian and the host are very nice. I definitely will book with them again when I go back to Venice. The location was very peaceful although easy to get to the centre of Venice via the many water buses or a stroll through the winding streets. The owner was lovely and we enjoyed our chats over breakfast. The room was lovely and quaint as was the old world charm of the house. We'd definitely stay here again. Location just off Zattere is beautiful especially in afternoon light, and convenient for water buses and walking everywhere, which of course you must do in Venice. This BnB was outstanding. The location is excellent, it is on a very very quiet street and just a few minutes walk to any major site. Very clean and comfortable. They will give you advice on sightseeing and allowed us to store our bags past the check out time. Breakfast everyday was freshly made and they always cleaned up after us. Hotel owner couples are incredibly nice and hospitable. There are only two rooms in the b&b, so me & my fds basically took up the whole place. Comfy bed, comfy shower, perfect breakfast prepared by the owner every morning. They were even happy to adapt the breakfast time according to our time schedule. It's just amazing!. We arrived at 9 by train and they let us early moved in the unoccupied room and offered us coffee.we booked the connecting room.and it was perfect for us 4 since we have had the entire floor. One word of caution, which should be fairly apparent to anyone looking at a map: Ca' Santo Spirito is located fairly out of the way. That being said, the city center is fairly small and easily walkable, and it's only 10 minutes to the Accademia bridge. There's also a vaporetto stop around the corner and a traghetto stop even closer (though the traghetti weren't running when we were there). The bath tub is a bit small if you are of large proportions or not very flexible. The owner Sylvia was largely absent, so the place lacked a heart. Felt like a rented room rather than a b & B. Breakfast was adequate, but below par for Italy where good food is so abundant. Breakfast was the same each morning, not a complaint but a change up during a long stay would be nice. The entry way is very dark but once on the room level the area is very open and bright. Stairs are very steep and their is no lift. The price is a big steep, but you won't find anything much better in Venice. The location is slightly out of central Venice, so prepare your feet for some walking!. The location is a bit tricky for the people who arrive at the first place. But that's Venice (!) and the owner would like to pick us up once we got lost. A little far away from the train station on a small ally. But the owner sent us very detailed instruction to the BB.so it was ok. This is definitely not a complaint, more an observation: pillows in Venice hotels all seem to be quite hard: you may need to ask for a softer pillow. Not much to not like. Not recommended for anyone who likes a large breakfast. At breakfast, expresso was so and so...I'm Italian, I must admit :-). A little farther from tourist attractions than the map suggests, as there are only 2 bridges linking the islands. We liked everything, the only small thing was that there was no one there on our arrival, it took some time for the assistent to be there in spite of clear message about the arrival time. Nothing to mention. The hotel is located in area distant from the Venice center and looks abandonned and a bit creepy so we were a bit worried walking there in the night. Stairs - ok for us but could be an issue for the less able. Shared bathroom. Bathroom did not look like pictures. It was a small tub with a shower handle. Bedroom suite was in attic, so you had to sit in tub to bathe. Breakfast served late. Stairs a bit steep, but that is very common in Venice. Ok welcome but more of a diy approach with no real warmth or interest in adding to our venice experience. combined bathroom. the staff is not at all helpful - almost never there and when you need them they do not care.
