We stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 days celebrating our wedding anniversary.It was fantastic, the room beautiful, comfortable,the amenities really nice.It was spacious,the furniture marvellous. all reviews » The staff at Ca'San Giorgio was very accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. There is free tea, coffee, and cookies 24h in the lobby and the free breakfast is perfect. The hotel has every amenity you could possibly want. The location is great - not very close to the attractions but less than a 15 minute walk to any of the major landmarks. Wonderful breakfast, which they served for 2 luxurious hours! Great amenities- the minibar was a very welcome sight and the little fridge itself was useful for our own snacks. Especially appreciated the personalized service from the front desk staff (we felt like VIPs, but we were mere backpackers) and the eco-friendly toiletries. I will be back!. The room was spacious (we heard this is rare in Venice!), the reception was warm and welcoming and the restaurant tips were excellent. It's a quiet spot right next to the Canal which is lovely. My only complaint was finding the hotel. There is no sign on the outside of the hotel - only a small plaque next to the doorbell and a floor mat which say the name. The rooms are in need of a touch up. The beds are very hard, as are some of the pillows. The first night, the heating did not work and there was no hot water. we were moved to another suite where everything was fine. Nothing. Leaving after only 2 nights. Our room was up 4 flights of stairs, top level, which is a "drag" with fully packed suitcases, 2 25-inch spinners at 45 lbs. (2 kilos) each. If you have mobility limitations (legs and hips), this is not a recommended hotel. It's located about 10 meters from a pier on the Grand Canal, and it's served by only one line on the Vaporetto (water bus) with 2 stops, each one about 4-5 minutes' walk from the hotel. the room was a bit cold. The sign of the hotel is small. So if you go during night time, you may not notice where the hotel is but it is not a big problem. The pier is on the opposit side of the hotel and no bridge near by. Have to walk from Sata Maria train station only but not too far to walk especially if you are light traveller. Breakfast is not that big, but it's actually o.k. Nothing. No lift. VERY STEEP stairs to get to our room. Expensive for Italy but quality for money in Venice. no tea/coffee making facilities in room but there was in the lounge room. Difficult to manage bags for older people without a lift especially after negotiating the bridges!!!. no elevator. Bed quality, sound insulation.
