The location was ideal, 5-10mins walk from where the airport transfer boat drops you off, and the same distance to the famous Rialto Bridge. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and had good English. The thick curtains, very effective against early morning sunshine and light sleepers. No sound carried through the walls. Room was very comfortable, and the whole hotel was nicely decorated. The cakes at breakfast. Decent shower pressure. Bottles of water from the mini bar in the room were cheap.
all reviews » It is a beautiful hotel tucked away on a quiet street back in the smaller canals. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious. It is also near the main hospital of Venice, which was an unexpected blessing for us during our stay. Location is perfect, very close to Fte Nove and to the Rialto. Breakfast is quite correct and staff although not excessively friendly is quite accomodating. A/C can be usefull. Beds/decoration could be updated but the room remains quite confortable. Quiet accessible location away from the crowds but a short walk to all attractions. Great hospitality and excellent breakfast (special thanks for the exceptional homemade tiramisu!). Location is good as the route to st marks square means you pass a lot of places. But it would be difficult for some people to get back to the hotel. 7 mins to Rialto, 14 mins to St Marks. Get the 4.2 or 5.2 from Piazzale Roma to Fondamente. Hotel provides a map Mini bar is very cheap. 3 bedrooms and a washing machine were nice, also the breakfast supplies were nice to have. IF possible please avoid this hotel since it does not care about its customers and when booking please read all the terms & conditions properly. I didn't mind, but travelers should know that the hotel is on the 4th floor and there is no lift. I really enjoyed my stay but to give a full and honest review the following should be noted.... No kettle etc in room. Shower had a tendency to flood the bathroom if you weren't careful. Bread was a bit stale at breakfast, and the hot food a bit lukewarm - eat cake instead :). The only things not to like were small details for us--the satellite TV wasn't working in our room. But overall everything was great. Beware, the hotel is on the fourth floor and there is no elevator. So if you have a lot of luggage like we did, it can be kinda irritating. But, the hotel is worth the trouble. The location is too hard to find and too far from center. however if you are good at finding ways, the hotel will be good. Everything is so small. But one can't expect spacious rooms for this amount of money in Venice. Reading some of the other comments the main complaint is its hard to find. Its Venezia unless your hotel is next to the station its going to be hard to find. Our room was incredibly HOT the first night we were there because of a heated towel rack that somehow heated up the bathroom and the entire bedroom. We brought it to the attention of the staff and it was fixed the next day. We liked everything. 3 flights steps. But is was worth it . Nice bed n breakfast. Broken bed in bedroom, noise from the street (even during the night). Hard to get the shower door closed so it didnt leak. No Wifi. If you are first time in Venice you won't find this apartment by yourself it's better to call to the staff in advance and ask them to show a way or give clear directions. . Breakfast was quite poor and staff didn't make much effort to top up breakfast items. Not the most friendly staff. Hair dryer was of no use - needs removing. We stayed in the Elena apartment, which was North (farther away from the Rialto bridge) of Ca'Riccio itself. Okay location, just farther away than we expected. Although we had indicated our expected arrival time, nobody was there at the time and we had to find a restaurant (with all our luggage, in the rain) to bide our time. There is no elevator and this hotel is the lastest floor in the building. So when you have to go up with the luggage, it is quite exhausting. We managed but could do with more kitchen utensils for cooking and while okay was not super clean (e.g. the fridge was quite smelly). Room was under the roof, could not stand up, hit my head on the beam twice, had to bent over to get to bed, shoer was so small and I am a small person, could barrely move in and out. The staff was unfriendly.There was no one at the desk. our room was on the top floor. we had to climb up to forth floor to the room, but it was ok for us. Lugging two large suitcases plus bags up 5 flights of stairs!. Sometimes the staff seemed not comfortable in providing answers to your questions and I don't know why they turn off the air-conditioning system in the common area during the afternoon. It was so hot in Venice... Shower hose broken -water flooded floor during each shower had to mop it up with towels. Also could not sleep first night as mattress protector was creased and made bed very uncomfortable. Also Air Conditioning very noisy. Arrived at b/b - nobody there - note left on door to ring Serena when we arrived. Not very satisfactory. We would have liked the hotel and the staff also, but there happened an unpleasant incident in one evening. The staff came in to our room with their own keys in the evening when we were having our "own time". They told that they need to borrow our remote control of the TV to some other customer??!! That was very unpleasant and unacceptable. Our evening was totally ruined. Also the hotel is hard to find when you come first time. Hotel staff is very unfriendly and they do not respond properly to its customers.
