This was a great place to stay in Rome! The staff was very helpful and informative. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a nice size bathroom. We were surprised by how quiet the place was given the lively weekend nightlife in Trastevere. The location was great - we walked to all of the main attractions in Rome - Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Vatican, Coliseum and more. We really loved the neighborhood feel of Trastevere. There were numerous bars and restaurants to choose fro.
all reviews » I studied lots of B&Bs and spent weeks reading various reviews. The Relais Casa Della Fornarina exceeded our expectations. Large and quiet room. Very clean. Vouchers for a full American breakfast which we didn't get at any other B&B we stayed at. Walking distance to everything in Trastevere. Just don't judge a book by it's cover and how it looks from the outside. A+++ in my book. Staff is very friendly, rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the necessities (and even few extras, such as an espresso/cappuccino maker and ironing board). Even though this place is not centrally located, it is still only about 15-30 min to most of the greatest attractions, such as Colosseum, S. Pietro Basilicca, campo di Fiori and others. Lovely little hotel in a fun location. Comfortable room with all the conveniences we needed, including a proper coffee machine. Breakfast was available in a choice of 2 local bars which we thought this added to the "genuine" Roman experience. Delightful all round and would definitely stay there again. The room was small but well organized and very comfortable, with a minibar and nice coffee table. Location is great, at the heart of trastevera, not too far from the Vatican and piaza navona as well. You get the keys to the front door and for some days you can feel you live in Rome. If you want to stay in Travstevere then this is a great hotel, close to the village, close to the river, close to the Vatican. When we saw the staff they were really helpfull but didn't see them much. It is well-situated in the lovely Trastevere. Easy to reach, modern, comfortable. Liked the coffee machine in our room. Great location for exploring Rome. Our room was quite small but had everything you need for a city trip. clean, spacious, great design, newly renovated, very quiet in an area full of bars. Much smaller than expected. Rooms fresh and clean with nice bedlinen, bathroom was a good size but I thought the fixtures and toiletries supplied were of inferior quality. Some complimentary long-life milk capsules would be beneficial to use with the welcome coffee, tea and biscuits. Complimentary umbrellas a nice touch. The location was fantastic for us, Central with lots of Bars and Restaurants close by. It was quiet, spacious and relatively comfortable, but lacked atmosphere and friendliness. Enjoyed going to the cafe's for breakfast. Trastevere area is fun if you like a bit of nightlife. We were there over the weekend and it was fun. Nice room. Comfortable bed. Fairly priced mini bar. There was nothing we didn't like, but we were surprised that the shared living area wasn't used at all. It had a kitchenette with a bar that would've been perfect for a breakfast area - even if it was just croissants. Hotel was great, we were a little dissapointed at how run down and dirty Trastevere was. Breakfast is included but you have to go to one of two nearby cafes. On both days (sun, mon) neither of the cafes were open early (8:15 am). Having to pay 5 euro for organising parking. Map supplied too small, a more detailed one of the Trastevere area would be a bonus. Hated having to go out for breakfast, fresh croissants and orange juice could be easily supplied. Cold! We visited in November when it was quite cold, the heating had been turned off when we arrived, and the room was very cold. It did heat up slowly but was never very warm, and took a long while to reach a comfortable temperature. The Bathroom was always cold and the hot water was never really hot at its maximum setting. The main heating only came on for a short period and we had to use the air-con unit to boost the temp. Not one single English speaking Channel on the TV out of 800!. Could be too noisy for some people on a weekend. It was fairly pricey for a place a bit out of the way in such a grungy area. Bathroom was a good size and design but the white shower had a lot of discolouration and needed attention.
