Very comfortable despite hot weather - modern and well equipped but small and friendly. I loved the front desk clerk Fabry and the amenities of the hotel.Breakfast. Good sized rooms, very clean, very quiet (ours was in the back). The location is great with a metro station and many bus stops nearby. First impressions of the area can be negative (train station area and Rome's Chinatown, you hardly meet any italians during the day). One gets used to it pretty fast and it felt quite safe in the night. All in all an excellent (low budget) choise for Rome.

The hotel was situated near the metro, railway station, supermarket and also within walking distance from most of the main sights. The breakfast was better than we expected and the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was big, nicely decorated and clean. We have only good things to say about Hotel Caracciolo and we'd definitely stay there again because the price-quality -ratio was excellent. our flight was cancelled so we needed somewhere cheap to stay for the night and we were pleasantly suprised the girl behind the reception was very friendly and helpful the rooms were a good size, clean and the beds were comfortable!! it is just a ten minute walk from romes cental rail station (termini) which has a direct train to da vinci airport so it is very convenient and well priced. The room was very comfortable, with air conditioning and heating. Lovely furniture and a clean bathroom. Most of the staff spoke very good english and were helpful with restaurant recommendations, transport and local knowledge. Breakfast was very substantial buffet, mostly pastries and cereal. I am a fast walker and it took my about 45mins to walk from Piazza Navona to the hotel. However, you are about a 2 min walk from Termini which is a huge plus when arriving and leaving, and if you like the Subway from Termini can be used to access most of the sites.Being by the train station the neighborhood not very attractive. good vaule. No room tea/coffee facilities. I did not like the fact that they did not offer laundry service. the hotel is in a pretty rough neighborhood and not really close to much; we had to walk about 20 min to get to the colloseum. the staff was great, but its just not a great location.The bizarre shower, which got everything in the bathroom soaking wet andmade the floor very slippery. Outside noise level.More varity of sausages, cheeses and bread. The slice bread should be largest. The bread and the cakes (e.g. croissants) should be freshly (from the day time). There were cob webs in some of the corners of our room and after coming back from our day's events,we had no toilet paper ( good thing I was not alone ) I found the breakfast to be substandard compared to the other hotels in Italy on the same trip. The area the hotel is in, near the train station, is quite a scary area. Room was small, breakfast was basic. poor decoration of rooms. Size of the room. Very Very small. i would prefer an Aparthotel anyday. No Internet access, small rooms. the shower was in poor condition (showerhead was fixed with a plastic bag ).

By car: From the north: ringroad exit Salaria, from the south: ringroad exit Appio S. Giovanni, from the west: ringroad exit Aurelia, from the est: ringroad exit Tiburtina, always follow directionsto the city center and Termini Train Station. Take via Marsala andthan the tunnel on the left; at the end of the tunnel you will find via Giolitti, and after 20 meters, on the right, you will find hotel Caracciolo.
