We managed to get the room with the four-poster bed in, which was of a great size and had a nice en-suite. Florence is very expensive, over-priced for accommodation in my opinion. However, this B&B, at just over £90 per night, was good value for money compared to lots in Florence. The owner was a nice chap and provided us with advice on restaurants, as well as putting on a good quality continental breakfast in the morning and letting us leave our bags there after checkout. We had a great stay in Ghiacciaie! Very kind staff, comfortable fresh looking room and facilities. Great feeling like staying in our own home! Our room had windows facing to the railways but finally it was no use worrying about: it was quiet at night. Location is great for travelers without car, 10 minutes walk from the railway station so you could easily reach most Florence attractions on foot.

Massimo is a great host! He is always so helpful to the needs of guests and I can see that he runs his B&B with heart and professionalism. The room and the bathroom is spotless also the bathrooms are not crowded since they are only shared by two rooms. BTW you will love the restaurants Massimo recommends--cheap and delicious! -

We loved everything! We had 3 rooms during our 2 day stay. Hotel staff was unbelievably helpful. They made our museum reservations, gave us detailed info about Florence, and even tried to get our rental car delivered to the hotel instead of the airport. The rooms were so perfectly Tuscan that I felt like I was on a movie set. Breakfast was fabulous
