We upgraded our room for a (discounted) 35 Euros per night. We stayed in "The Tower" which was a room on 3 floors with an old stone winding staircase. It was incredible. The top floor (the bedroom) had 360 degree views of Florence for miles. Very romantic and very comfortable. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Of the 4 or 5 people who worked on reception, they were all incredibly nice and all offered to help with bookings/recommendations and getting around the town. Valen.
all reviews » Absolutely wonderful hotel right in centre of old Florence. Everything you would want to see is just a short pleasant walk away. Our deluxe room was very big, clean and comfortable with a frame bed and huge couch. The breakfast is amazing with a huge selection of dishes. The staff are all very friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast staff even remember what you like and bring it without asking. My wife and I stayed for six nights and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Hotel was excellent in every respect- amazing building combining historic appearance with modern facilities , quite breath taking . Wonderful breakfasts provided as part of the deal. Ideally located for exploring the great city...so diverse..so many eateries and bars nearby. Wonderful weather. The last time we were in Florence was as students in the early sixties. We were really delighted that we chose to go back to Florence to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary!!!!. I liked everything about this hotel. The staff were fantastic - I watched as they accommodated several guests with short notice changes and they were just so helpful and courteous. Breakfast was fantastic, its location is as good as it gets - easy access to all the sites, restaurants and shops. The room was bright, spacious, clean and comfortable. Overall, I would rate this hotel joint first in all the hotels I have stayed in within Europe. Strongly recommended. The hotel couldn't be in a better location to access everything Florence has to offer. With Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton etc on your door step you will be in designer heaven! Take flat shoes as you will do a lot of walking! Nothing. The wifi was a pain as you had to continually log in and renew. No bad points. Nothing!. There was no bath, no bidet which is strange in a European hotel and the air con. Could have worked better. Also no full length mirror and you had to ask for slippers. The coffee could have been better!. Nothing, the hotel was perfect. I am not as familiar as I should be about hotel prices in Florence, but it was expensive I thought. Perhaps it is the location that makes it so expensive. Airconditioning didn't work but was needed Could do with a kettle in the room Parking is a nightmare in Florence!. I did not like is booking a superior double & ending in a standard double room (20sqm vs 16 sqm) This wa very dissapointing, to say the least. Moreover, WiFi connectivity. nothing. The internet used to be a problem, but now they have a totally new system and it works great - so absolutely no problems here!. The other room had a faulty lock (key card took multiple tries to work every time we used it) and broken air conditioning. The hotel basically declared these things fixed even though they weren'T. Nothing special. Free wifi a little slow. Nothing i don't like. It is a city centre hotel so you have to expect some street noise but the lack of double glazing didn't help . A few things, while they looked great, didn't function very well, like the shower head. It was on a wand and just wouldn't stay in place like a regular shower. There was no way you could keep it from slipping down the pole and spraying in the right direction. Also we asked for a mid priced recommendation for a restaurant and even by Florence's standards it was very expensive and just not all that great.C. The wi-fi that's free isn't very useful, except for brief checking of e-mail. I paid for the extra service. N/A. Can't really criticize. Room located towards Via Porta Rossa, kind of noicy street. Would have loved a gym/ fitness center in the building. WiFi goes in and out.
