The staff was lovely. The hotel was beautifully kept and the rooms spotless. The rooms also had a modern security system and all modern amenities. The location is fabulous. My view was of the Duomo. And you step outside and turn to your left and you are in the plaza of the Duomo. It's a five minute walk to the Academia and five to the Uffizzi. The continental breakfast was always fresh and the staff always welcoming. If I ever make it back to Florence I would be sure to stay there again!.
all reviews » The best feature is the location! You walk out the door and BAM! there's the Duomo. Waking up to the bells was an experience I will never forget. Also, it is an easy walk from the train station as well as to the major Florence attractions. It made walking around in the cool evening enjoying the city very convenient. The hotel itself is very charming, clean, and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful place to stay!!!. Absolutely brilliant location metres from the Duomo. We requested a Duomo facing room (1303) and was blown away by the view and the sound of the bells. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast lady / maid was lovely.... Humming her way through breakfast! Excellent value for money. Close to all major venues and restaurants. Tip: don't shop anywhere else but the San Lorenzo markets for all your leather goods. The location is fantastic. We opened our window to look out over the Duomo (Cathedral). An easy walk to all the major attractions - Accademia and Uffizzi, Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our room was large, as was the bathroom. We were very happy with our accommodation and our stay in Florence. This hotel was beautiful! The rooms were furnished very nicely and the hotel is well decorated. The real draw, though, is the location - literally right on the piazza with the Duomo as a view out our windows. Hard to sleep because of the noise during nights. Nothing. one staff was not friendly. The elevator was old. Space in breakfast room was limited. The staff was rude and not accommodating. I had accidentally booked two rooms and although they were not full , they refused to refund one room. And they were not helpful. There is only one reason to stay here and that is location. Otherwise I would find someplace where the guests are appreciated. The hotel reception in the third floor and no one to help with the luggage are terrible. If you don't have problems to carry your luggage to the room through stairs to a small elevator you will like it. Extremely noisy, you can almost hear the other guest conversations. And when they took a shower, seemed like someone was showering on your own room. Wifi is not free, I haven't seen this in any other hotel of Europe. Even every restaurant offers free wifi for the guests. Hotel located up 4 flights of stairs in obscure alley off Main Street. Hard to find! Very small lift! Advertising info does not make it clear that hotel is on top floors of building. Could be an issue for elderly people!. No iron in the room and bed was a little hard.
