Great location only a block from the train station (which also has the cheap purple bike hire scheme - on the left exit of front train station for 10 euro). Walking distance to everything, but bike hire allowed us to go everywhere quick! Forget the hike and get on the bike! The hotel was built around 1700, so older than anything in Australia, so if course not as modern, but quiet enough, we had our own bathroom and balcony, and value for money. The managers were friendly and provided heaps of g.
all reviews » A lovely, quiet room. Shared toilet. In room shower and sink was a nice surprise since we thought we would have a shared bathroom. Nice owners. Very convenient. Close to the train station. Great little sidewalk restaurants on the same street. Easy walking to the museums and piazzas. A delightful stay. Its super convenient,the family who owes it also owe the restaurant downstairs, it's delicious. The entire hotel only has 7 rooms, it's perfect for traveller like us who really appreciate a good night sleep without noise/disturbance. Super clean and good hot water at the bathroom. Close to Santa Maria Novella church and train station, easy to find, city center in 10 minutes. Wi-fi. Although the stuff does not speak English good enough, they are willing to help. At the afternoon we tried to rest, but it wasn’t impossible of the loud Italian speech. There was a strange smell as this apartment is very old. No view from windows. Not sound proof. We didn't like the shared bathroom. First of all there was issue with the lock system. Secondly if you take bath with full shower then water will flow into whole bathroom, which makes difficult for others to use. Nothing. Nothing. The wifi in 1st room is a bit weird, u can get the full bar signal in the room, but u just can't get connected unless u walk out the room. Bit noisy but didn't disrupt us. the toiletis shared. The staff were very loud and made me uncomfortable. The two men who were there most of the day would yell at one another in hostile voices at all hours. I have no idea what they were discussing but it didn't sound friendly and from inside my room it was very loud. I felt like I was interrupting some sort of family conflict or staying with a disfunctional family for the 3 nights. The lights are dark. a little old facility weak wifi signal do not have warm water for shower all the time. nothing. Wifi in Room No.5 is poor for iPhone. Nothing. The receptionist is very old and doesnt speak english. Also, he lives in the hotel - his room was just next to our and it raised some problems for us - we didnt want to make any noise and disturb him. The street is very noisy and it was absolutely impossible to sleep with open windows (and problematic with even closed windows since there's no sound isolation). The hotel is for sure very neat and nice but I wouldnt stay there again. the stairs if you have a 28" luggage!. The staff would start yelling and making noises on purpose very early in the morning. We would get woken up every morning around 7 and it just wouldn't stop until we left the building. very noisy all the time. you can hear everything happening in at the reception and the other rooms. No lift. The room is really small. Strange issues when trying to pay with your credit card. All cards did not work and I had to end up paying cash. Staff didn't seem to surprised or worried about their credit card problem: possible scam. Shared bathroom is far away from your room, little privacy.
