I had mixed feelings about the hotel when I booked it because I never lived in a two star hotel. But as far as I understood 2-star hotels in Florence are not that far from 4-star hotels in other cities. Besides the price was very moderate in comparison with hotels in other famous cities. The hotel is small, it is situated on a quiet street 20 minutes from the very center of the city by foot. There was swedish breacfast. Friendly staff also helped with economy parking places. Near the hotel some shops (for it was better than empty trip to outlet near Florence), trattorias, and Coop supermarket. The hotel is in a quiet residential area of Florence near a couple other modest but nice hotels, with parking available on the street, and restaurants, cafes, and a bakery close by. The river is just a few blocks away and the historic center about 10 minutes by foot. Very reasonable price for rooms. Helpful, English speaking staff. The area is quiet and it is only a 20-minute walk to to historic centre of the town. We found the parking place in the next street and as we parked in the blue line it was for free. The walls seem to be very thin and you can hear everything from rooms around. The noise: we specifically requested a quiet room. We were on the second floor with a family with a young child(children?) above us and they ran noisily around til almost 11 P.M. Our room also was on the street-side so picked up all the noise there, including a crane working directly outside the window form 4 A.M. to 7 A.M. on the seocnd night - didn't make for a clear head at the conference I was attending!. No terrace. The mattress is not perfect, the shower room is small. We were on the bottom floor right next to the communal toilet. Nothing remarkable. Was a bit of a walk to the historic attractions. Air conditioning didn't work well. A little far way from the centrel, about 20 min walk so if you live for a long time, it won't be very convenienc. The matress of the bed not so good. Air-conditioners unable to work even after we asked the staff a few times. Mattress felt about 20 years old saggy in middle glad only had to sleep on it one night. Facility is primitive and is a little far from main attractions. Plastic cups in room, no tea or coffee facilities. With a little improvement it could be much better.
