First of all, the location couldn't be better. It is located about 2 blocks south of the Duomo, and 2 blocks north of Ponte Vecchio bridge and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted. There are city buses, and unbelieveably one of them comes right down the narrow street with a stop right in front of the B&B, so coming from the train station with suitcases was no problem (1.5 euro bus ticket). The staff was excellent, and helpful in suggesting sights not to miss and how to get to them.

He helped us book a lovely restaurant and was endlessly helpful with where to go and what to see in his home town. The B&B is his home and is run with warmth & love. The rooms are clean, comfortable & simple. There are tea and coffee facilities available at all times and a little mini bar for your use. Location is wonderful, right in the heart, near the Duomo but not at all noisy. Recommen. Bruno was awesome. He is so friendly, welcoming and helpful with orientation of the city and suggestions of things to do. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The bed was so comfortable. The apartment was so secure and so centrally located as well that we could walk everywhere. Even though it was centrally located, there wasn't alot of noise from the street. There are tons of shops, supermarkets, delis and restaurants nearby that makes it so convenient. The host Bruno was so friendly and helpful, he couldn't do enough. He even left a chocolate egg in my room for Easter. The room was clean and the location of this hotel is superb for seeing all the sights of Florence. There were also facilities for making tea or coffee any time and an honesty bar, which was good after a long day sightseeing. Have to add a word of thanks to neighbour Danny for his assistance. Badia fiorentina felt like our own little section of Florence. Bruno the owner opens his home to everyone staying there and makes it feel like home. All the decor gives the place a real charm. Being right in the centre was perfect as we were able to see all the sight in just a couple of days and explore both sides of the river. Highly recommended if you like to explore and are not a fan of generic hotel rooms. Bruno, the owner is delightful and always very helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and there was lots of hot water. The location, in middle of the oldest parts of Florence made it feel as though one was part of the neighborhood. It was so easy to stop by for a minute to drop off purchases. This is my third stay at Badia and hope to stay again. Very friendly and helpful owner, helped us on every occasion. location is a star, around the corner from everything. Great gelateria next door, supermarket as well. room was a little small but clean and with big bed. Got an apt instead of a room. We were not prepared to to shopping until the next Day. Wifi is not available at the apartment likely due to distance from the router. But we were able to get wifi at Bruno's office/ main dining room. We unfortunately at the time had extremely noisy neighbours staying in the apartment above us. I had booked the Annexe but when I arrived I found I was in the main building. If I'd been told in advance it would have avoided confusion and Bruno wouldn't have had to leave his son's wedding to sort things out. On the plus side this meant I got to spend time with the host and got breakfast too which wouldn't have been included in the other option. A little noisy but I don't think you'd find a hotel in central Florence that isn't. Our bathroom was not en-suite, although we were notified about it in advance. Breakfast was a little poor, salami or cheese would be great. Bed bugs, no phone so unable to call taxi, dinner reservations etc. Nice staff but language barrier made problem solving difficult. Got reservations confused. breakfast. Pure breakfast, long stairs not suit for heavy lagage, difficult to find by car. Wifi was spotty, but that was typical of all of Italy... VERY difficult to find, harder to get there even when you know where it is given the one-way roads. It run outbof toiletbpapaer and hot water and there was no way to comunicate with them. Promised rooms were not available due to repair problems and substitute room was not up to standards/inconvenient;. My bathroom was across the hall from my bedroom. Mold in the shower behind the shower door. To be fair, I could only see it inside the shower, not when you folded the door. Balls of dust on the bedroom floor.
