The staff were extremely helpful and sympathetic. We had a small problem with a key, and they were eager to sort it out very quickly. The rooms are airy and comfortable (we stayed in 2 different ones on separate nights), and we were given a quiet one at the back when we asked for one. As we had to leave early for the airport, we were given the makings of a breakfast the night before, and coffee was always available from a machine. All in all, a very good place to stay, especially as it is w.
all reviews » Very central, 2 mins away from piazza Duomo and Via Etnea and 5 mins away from the market. Less than 10 mins from the port. It has a private parking shared with the rest of the gated community which seemed to be safe. The guesthouse has a lift as well and it was very good considering the cheap price we payed. Wifi was also available, italian breakfast in room and with a balcony for the street view. Very worth it if you're not looking for luxury but the basics you need. B&B Eolo is located in the centre of Catania, 2 minutes walk from Main Square and Duomo. It has parking that is great as it’s pretty hard to find a place for parking in this area. Hotel is nice, with big yard and a fountain in front of the entrance, which makes this place “very Italian”. Staff is friendly; hotel is calm and good for a rest after long day full of new impressions. The location is very good for central Catania...5 minutes from Piazza Duomo. The receptionist, Paolo, was very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious with high ceilings and clean. It was overlooking a quiet private courtyard. It is in an ideal location, with free parking. Walking distance to the Duomo. The room was super with a beautifully decorated ceiling also a balcony! Wonderful value for money. It didn't want to work, but with a bit of assistance and teaching of "the knack", it did. 2. The WC seat in room 5 though it was a bucking bronco, and nearly had me on the floor with my pants down. The area is a bit shabby but it is the way buildings are in the centre of catania and the guesthouse shares the main entrance and main door with other local residents in an apartment like building. It was hard to find in the dark. It's inside a metal door to a courtyard. There's just a little plaque with the hotel name on it. Catania was dangerous (But Eolo made that as minimal as possible). down town , security concern after nightfall. There was no wifi in the room, also breakfast was not that good. Also the entrance is a bit difficult to find, and the lift is very old. The limited breakfast choice.But it was ok enyway. There was a power cut for a few seconds and after that the alarm next door went off. For almost four hours the alarm sounded very loudly right outside our room. I had to push the staff several times to take some kind of action as the noise was unbearable. In the end the owners of the house next door arrived and turned the alarm off! I know it wasn't their fault, but a bit more initiative from the staff would have been appreciated. there was nothing I didn,t like. Inadequate luggage deposit and poor breakfast. Nothing to complain about. Nothing. It´s hard to sleep there, buses, mopeds and motorcycles making noise all night and people on the street can be heard by the one-glass windows. It was quite difficult to find a right and short way from airport to the B&B. A description would be helpful. When we arrived we say that there was a sign that said cash only this was never said in the on line order when we placed it, if it had we would of went else where, other than that we liked it some what the bed and breakfast should mean real food in the morning not a cold prepackaged treat almost out of date, my wife and Mother will never come back because of this , and you at letsbookhotel.com are close to loosing us also !!. Trying to get there from the airport by bus. Breakfast was awful and we preferred go to the bar. Room just for sleep and shower. On website it advertised airport shuttle, but when it came to it we had to pay €20 taxi fare. Noise from street. Young lady of the stuff has very poor english. The hotel was expensive. The room was small, uncomfortable and very noisy. The building is on a main road. Terrible traffic night and day. The breakfast was awful. The staff weren't speak english.
