The window was actually a two window (quadruple-glaze) which meant it was really quiet. Nice to have the little extra: a kettle with tea, coffee; even a chocolate on the bedside table; sleepers. Nowadays, hotels reduce extra; not Starhotels Excelsior in Bologna. We liked its extremely convenient location (just across from the train station), the excellent comfort and cleanliness of the room, the attractive (very modern) design, the very good breakfasts. My husband said I'd hit a home run with this one.

This was the second hotel in one weekend that this happened. We discovered our travel iron was broken and as we were attending a wedding it was not a good time for this to happen. Lack of quality air conditioning.price for the parking was quite high. bar was rather expensive. The location at night was not great (opposite the station), howeve, that was a minor point. car park 27E per day. Bed was a little too firm. lack of spaces where few people can have short time work meeting with some privacy. None. Gym. Rooms were very nice but also only average compared to North Americanhotels I stay at frequently (Marriott/Marriott Courtyard, HolidayInn/Holiday Inn Express, Hilton/Hilton Garden Inn, etc.) and so I wouldhave been disappointed had I paid the advertised regular rate (e400+, ifI recall). The breakfast on the Sunday was a mess, as there were only two staff and food ran out. The actual breakfast had a good choice before.A/C not on after Oct room was very hot. No english channels on TV. no A/C or full sat TV eg english programs. no free internet facility.
