Friendly staff, good suggestions. We got room 209--with two bathrooms,one very large with a bathtub!!. It was in avery ggod place of the town.The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the bathroom perfect, the breakfast was good and plentiful (esp the hot choloclate!), the other guests were very nice. big rooms,nice bathroom, awesome position in the center of bologna.

I actually thought that I had reserved a twin room but on their receipt it said only double. Since I was traveling with my nephew we wanted a twin room. They seperated the double bed and put clean sheets and new bedspreads on. The bathroom was the biggest and best one of all the places we stayed at in Italy. The ease of making reservation is not easy at all.It was clean and quiet, location and breakfast exellent. Free internet service via hotel's computer. The central location of the hotel on the via dell'independenza was great. Very close to both the central station and piazza maggiore. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was ok. The bathroom and toilet amenities were good. Nice soundproofed rooms. Centrally situated and great for getting around.Location. close to the railway station. Location - in the center. Odor of sewer outside the hospital. It was a little noisy but our room was on the street so we expected it.Ask for quite room off of the main drag. The single room was too small, incredible lack of air and very hot at night. Since the hotel is on the most vibrant street in bologna, it is not possible to leave the window open during the night because of the noise but it gets way too hot and dry if you sleep with windows closed! More air circulation would be great + strange and pretty annoying noise through the water pipes in the walls. Avoid room 101 as this is the pits. In my job I've seen many a prisonerscell and this is about on a par. After two days of protesting we gotmoved into what must have been the best room in the Hotel. Aircon not working, maintainnance could be better. squeaking bed. There was no breakfast left after 9 o'clock. The room was not good for the money.

Travelling information

By Car:
- Join the by-pass and take turn-off number 7, following signs to the city centre.
- Continue all the way along Via Stalingrado for approximately 2 km.
- At the end of this road, you will come to a fly-over with a traffic light. Go straight over onto Via Mascarella.
- At the first traffic light, turn right into Via Irnerio and continue along the same road until you reach the junction with Via dell’Independenza, where you will find the hotel on your left.

By Train:
In front of the station is Piazza Medaglie d’Oro and on your left, after approximately 100 metres, is Via dell’Independenza. Take this road and continue towards Piazza Maggiore. After approximately 800 metres, you will find the hotel on your left at the junction between via Irnerio and Via Independenza.

By Plane:
Bologna city centre is approximately 4 km from the airport. A special bus service called Aerobus provides a rapid and easy connection with the city centre. Using this service from the airport, alight at the Via dell’Independenza Arena del Sole stop. From here continue down Via dell’Independenza towards the main station. Just a few metres down the road you will find Hotel Donatello on your right, on the corner with Via Irnerio.
