Very nicely designed in oriental style, the gardens are very pretty and the views are unique. Breakfast is plentiful and with a large variety, with good fresh bread, excellent cheese choices, many good and fresh salads, variety of cold fish and more. Excellent location for the film festival, which is right next door, but it’s a pretty good location for other places too if you’re not afraid of some walking. all reviews » I love the feeling of authenticity, the Moroccan/Turkish atmosphere, the antique pieces all over the hotel, the fabulous views, the fact that it is not like all the other modern hotels, and is a much more interesting place. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and the hamam is like a trip to the old Morocco. There are surprises around every corner. Food is delicious!!! The views are breathtaking from public areas and some of the rooms. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk from tourist centres such as the Old City; restos, and the new shopping area of Mamilla. The uncrowded pool and the various seating areas on terraces or in small gardens are inducive to quiet and leisure. The breakfast menu is varied, intersting and delicious and one can eat inside or out on the large terrace with fantastic views . Advice to the hotel: if improving the sound isolation is to expensive, maybe you can fix the doors to slam silently, since that’s the most disturbing noise. The exercise room opens far too late to allow you to have a full day and to work out. No real business area with facilities. (Computer not working and no printer available.) Some of the bathrooms do not have the beautiful ceramics and are quite plain. Old is ok, but could be cleaner. Room service menu was not good. Many of the staff were rather sullen and unsmiling. Staff indifferent and unsmiling (an Israeli general behaviour when it comes to hotel staffs). Service rather poor. Very (too) big hotel, sometimes overcrowded by large noisy groups or congress guests. Breakfast rooms sometimes overcrowded early morning by departing groups. delay in checking in. Wi-Fi should be available for free in the rooms. We had good free wi-fi connection in the lobby but not in the room. Parking across street was free but limited. First come first serve. nothing. Staff did not care to inform about buses . Staff could have been more helpful with directions. Staff could be a little friendlier. Front desk needs to be able to make change for customers regardless of day. Very limited food offering when dining room not open. Not totally happy with the room. No chair or desk to work from so had to perch laptop on chest of drawers. And the bath tub was made for a midget, so I could only get in it by crunching up my knees. breakfast price if included is rediculous. Beds could be better but I am really struggling to find anything I didn't like in the hotel. The Friday night dinner was expensive for what it was. The food was fine, but the price was premium. No meat. Nothing. There is no parking and that is very big problem. The antique feel is charming but the hotel is a bit weathered. It could use an overhaul. Rooms were clean but felt like its been awhile since the carpet has been changed or walls painted. Didn't feel especially welcomed. Pool closed early one night at six because there was a wedding and was also closed on the morning of the Jewish holiday although no notice had been given for this. Rooms - paid extra for superior room to find out that their superior is the same as their standard. They offered us an upgrade but the room was down 2 lifts and 2 sets of stairs and we had a baby in a pushchair. And that room didnt look great. Needs upgrading. Service was poor.food not great either. qualitat of the rooms, every early morning the big noise from the staff running the cars over the oneven garden pad to swimming or others places. Bad not comftable, room cold, no hitting. Staff is really unfriendly and unhelpful. Service is really poor and enthusiasm close to 0. Parking is on the other side of the street and there is no valet to help you, so luggages will be your burden... Rooms are old fashioned (not in the right way) materials are bad and sound proofing is really bad. We stayed 3 nights in a superior room at $255 and I believe it was really overpriced!. Never stay at the hotel again. I didn't like the service neither the facilities. Rooms were not so clean. Too expencive for the service and the hotel facility.
