We got a huge welcome from the very friendly nad efficient manager and we chatted for ages. He also gave us several good tips - one of them about why banks ask if you want to pay in your currency or the currency of the country you are visiting (make it the country you are visiting - saves charges). I wonder why the banks don't tell you this! Also tips on where to eat, where to shop etc. We really felt at home here! I hope these new(ish) owners do really well - they deserve it.
all reviews » Extremely clean and comfortable rooms. A warm and personal wellcome from the duty receptionist Jonathan, he was very kind to myself and friends and helped us to dry our very wet motor cycle clothes after a very difficult ride from killarney. Due to the inclement weather he organised transport for us to local restaurant and bar, checked our ferry times and if it was running he was just fantastic and I ask you to pass on our sincere thanks. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms clean, and staff on reception desk was very helpful and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble, which can be a rare thing in hotels today. We stayed on our arrival from the evening ferry, and on our return for the morning ferry. The Rosslare Port Lodge is ideally situated for Rosslare Harbour, and great value for money. Look forward to staying there on my next trip over,. The Motel was close to the Ferry Port and the Eurail Station and this was our mode of transportation in reaching and leaving Rosslare. There were nice restaurants and a Pub close by. Motel was clean, provided free Wifi and served very well for our overnight stay. Staff were courteous and very cooperative in allowing extra time in our room since we couldn't leave until noon to catch our train. Spacious clean room. We asked for a twin room and got 2 king size beds. Very conveniently situated for catching the early ferry. Had delicious scampi and chips at the "last pub in Ireland" just back up the road. Free wi-fi in the lodge around the Reception area and we were able to get it in our room (10) which was close to Reception. Used as an overnight stop before catching the ferry the following morning. Perfect location close to pubs for evening meal out. Large modern room with free WiFi. Used this hotel as advertised with breakfast not available. This suited us as we had an early ferry. I see that you can now order some breakfast when booking in. Hotel was just 2 minutes drive from Rosslare Ferry Port. Five minutes walk from pub/restaurant which served evening meals. Hotel was basic but very warm and very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room, supermarket across the road if you wish to purchase items for breakfast. The Lodge is right beside the port of Rosslare. Nice places to eat within walking distance. Room was really comfortable and very clean. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Parking was excellent, right outside our room! Will always stay here when taking the ferry and will certainly recommend it. The friendly reception and that special extra service when the owner/manager invited us to leave our car on the premises,during our trip to wales and furthermore drove us down to the ship the following morning. This modern Budget Lodge/Hotel is a very definite addition to Rosslare Harbour. Conveniently located close to Rosslare Ferry Port, this lodge was ideal for us. Friendly, clean and comfortable, with a nice room and excellent value. Short walk to shops or local hotel for meals, it was perfect for our overnight stay before departing Ireland on the ferry. The Rosslare Port Lodge's name really says it all.This is accommodation that is really adjacent to the ferry port. You get a warm welcome good advice on where to eat and a comfortable nights sleep at a reasonable price. Ideal for a one night stop over before traveling on. Liked the proximity to the ferry port. Staff helpful. Basic accommodation but comfortable bed and very clean. We literally only slept there so met our needs very well for one night. Plenty of car parking and we could park our car right outside our room window. Simple accommodation, very convenient for port. Large room and good bathroom. TV and tea, coffee, etc in room. No food served other than crisps, biscuits, etc. but not needed when starting early for ferry. Efficient reception and pleasant, friendly staff. For us it was a very fleeting visit. We arrived very late at night and left for the ferry early the following morning. We had been in the Cork area for most of our holiday so know very little about the Rosslare area or the other hotel facilities. It was basic, but reasonably priced. Clean. Very near to the Port, as we were catching the ferry home next day, quite early. Offered no luxuries, no breakfast or dinner, just room only. Local hotels provided meals, from breakfast so no problem. Lovely clean fresh rooms. This was my second stay and notice the improvements. The two lovely young guys appear to be responding to the request and suggestions of clientele. Very helpful guys a were nice enough to help me to get tothe ferry. Clean comfortable rooms. Good car parking facilities. Clean and quiet accommodation that is perfect for a stop over before or after the ferry to/from Wales. About 15 minutes walk from the ferry port. Coffee in room and well priced breakfast goods. We will definitely stay here again. My wife was impressed with the building as we entered the car park, it was better than she expected for economy lodgings, She thought that net curtains was a nice touch. Cant think of a single thing as previously said we were extremely pleased with the high standard of rooms, level of service and rates. TV screen a bit small. Everything very good except had a cold shower in the morning. Delay in hot water before 7 am or need to run water for a long time????. Wi fi was available in reception area but unfortunately was not available in room. Nothing!. Most of the facilities are throw away dishes such as cups drinking glasses etc. One gets the impression that the although the rooms are very comfortable and well maintained this maintenance requires minimum staff due to this high level of disposable products. It would have been nice to have had food provided. Nothing to complain about. WiFi didn't work in the rooms but worked fine in reception. That we were unable to stay longer. Teething problems with new hot water system just installed, but do not let that put you off they worked through until early hours to fix it. The Rosslare Port Lodge met our needs perfectly. No critisicms. The family rooms only have double beds.... Not a serious gripe but the heating in the room was just adequate, the heater has it's own automatic timer so guest is unable to control when it comes on. The heated towel rail was not working so bathroom a bit chilly - but obviously there is a balance between cost and facilities. Nothing. The place was spot on for what we wanted. nothing to dislike! suggest posting room numbers on windows to facilitate parking guest cars. Minor point. The architecture. Maybe if the of the facade were painted white it would be an improvement. More important: And I'd have liked clearer road signage when approaching from Wexford and the port. Having to leave the hotel to go and find something to eat. nothing we had no complaints at all. Nothing. A slightly better selection of snacks and breakfast options would be perfect, since there is no dining facility within the hotel. Nothing at all!. Cannot fault it. We should have loved a super kingsized bed. Didn't offer breakfast - except offer to buy cereal & orange juice. The television wasn't working so that we nearly missed the tennis at Wimbledon. The tv channels didnt come in clear but we didnt bring it up with staff as we were just there for a night's rest.
