The position of the hotel was fantastic and it was central for everything..shopping centre only 5-10 mins away...The view over the river shannonn was brilliant too and plenty of great irish bars near by. I have staid in this hotel about 6 times all ready and i think it is exellent. If you are a cuple, married or business class i would really recomend this hotel but not so much for the families.
all reviews » during our stay one of my colluges had a family emergency and the staff on duty could not have been more efficient and helpfull .She cannot praise you enough for your handling of this event. It was central to everything and it had perfect parking facilities. The food was very reasonable also.The services and staff at the hotel were fantastic and it was centrallylocated in the city. The hotel is a bit remote. there is not much around it and it is a bit of a walk to the City.Cooked breakfast. Cold stuff was great!!. The only slight thing was the food on the main restraunt was quite expensive and i was still hungry after i had finished my dinner.We were supprised to be charged breakfast on top of our staff as we thought the breakfast was included with the room price, so £64.00 was a bit of a shock to pay on top. I believe the car park cost should be included in the price.The swimming pool was very cold.Advertised parking facility. Didnt mention that we had to pay 8.50 forthis per night. no music, mountain of rubish at the back of Clarion Hotel. No baby cot available. I did request one when I made my booking but theydid not receive it. I managed without and they offered to go to otherhotels to source one which was very nive of them. Yes I was woken at 7.30 trucks outside the window filling and dumping steel could not get back to sleep had to get up not happy for a saturday morning, I would go back if I was away from the noise.no. hotel very nice, but not very happy that I had to pay extra for parking- think it should be included in price for 1st night at least.its a niggling point but one gets the impression that the surrounding area has not caught up in the way the hotel might have wished. Car parking charge. the rooms were basic and there was a smell of detergent in ours when mentioned no discount was offered. At night time you could hear closing/opening door and talking (7th floor) very loud also there is no free parking. Breakfast is very small. No choice whatsoever and is not included.Small pool. Foyer runs into seated and bar area. Too near for my liking.i booked a twin room and on arrival i was told only a double bed was only what they could offer , not the best news for my friend to hear but had to drag some compensation from the staff but i was took care of and enjoyed my stay. The starters in the hotel restaurant were poor. The rest of the meal was perfect. In the morning, we were twice distrubed by staff before check out timewho entered the room twice without knocking. The original room we were allocated was extremely small considering we had a baby. I got the impression it was based on the price we paid. However upon a request to the front desk we were moved into another more sutibale room at no cost. breakfast was extremely average for the cost, we had invited guests and were forced out at exactly 10h30 whilst still eating as they had a private lunch functiont to prepare for, do not find that acceptable. Hard bed not condusive to good night's sleep - loud persistent alarms every night in early hours outside hotel also prevented unbroken sleep - probably requires triple glazing to rectify situation - full room service menu not available as advertised in guest info pack. unwilling for you to want to pay cash. Rip off phone charges! €2 per minute. Nothing. When I arrived only one room had been reserved not two as confirmed by Booking.com Hotel did not have an explantation for this and asked for a copy of the confirmation from you. Fortunately another room was available and provided. Service in dining room when we were having dinner was quite poor, i.e. very slow. Had to ask for desert a number of times. Same for coffee.

By Car (from Shannon Airport - located 21 km from the hotel):
- Take the N18 in to the city.
- On the approach road take the Cork/Kerry exit on the 1st roundabout.
- Follow signs for Cork/ Kerry.
- On approaching the city over Shannon Bridge, take the 3rd exit off this roundabout for the Dock Road.
- Take the 1st right hand turn and the hotel is located at the end of this street.

Limerick to Galway: 104 km - 100 minutes drive.
Limerick to Ennis: 37 km - 35 minutes drive.
Limerick to Shannon: 21 km - 20 minutes drive.

Directions from Cork/Kerry:
- Take the N20/N21/N69.
- On approach in to Limerick take the Galway/Shannon exit.
- At the 1st roundabout take the 1st exit; at the 2nd roundabout take the 3rd exit; at the 3rd roundabout (at which you will see the Southcourt Hotel on your left hand side) take the 1st exit and at the 4th roundabout take the 1st exit and then at the 5th and final roundabout take the 3rd exit.
- These roads will lead you to the Dock Road. Follow the Dock Road towards the city centre.
- Take a left before the Top Shop Station on the right hand side. The hotel is located at the end of this street.

Limerick to Cork: 100 km - 95 minutes drive.
Limerick to Killarney: 108 km - 90 minutes drive.
Limerick to Tralee: 101 km - 90 minutes drive.

Directions from Dublin:
- Take the N7 to the Parkway roundabout.
- Ensuring that you are in the right-hand lane, take the 3rd exit, sign posted for City Centre.
- Take the 1st exit off the next (small) roundabout.
- Then at the Hunt Museum the road will automatically take you left at the traffic lights; travel the full length of O'Connell Street until you reach Lower Mallow Street at the top of O'Connell Street.
- Take a right at the traffic lights, but then get yourself immediately into the left lane.
- Go through another set of traffic lights and pass by Jury's Inn which will be on your left.
- At the roundabout take the 1st exit - leads to Dock Road. Take the first right hand turn as the hotel is located at the end of this road.
