We've never stayed here before but we enjoyed our stay so much we are definitely going back next year!! All of the staff were lovely but Ella and Steve in the Bar really stood out! The food was superb, the hotel has a lovely old-time charm about it in fact it was faboulous!. We had four days of peace and tranquility at this hotel. The leisurecentre was perfect. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Our roomwas very comfortable.Am looking forward to staying at this hotel again.

This hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility. We had stayed before and hoped we would enjoy our stay again, we weren't disappointed. Looking forward to our next visit.This was a business trip so time spent at the hotel was limited and contact with the ataff was brief. however they seemed very friendly and helpful. I felt so comfortable at the Hotel which makes a huge difference when you are away especially with two children,. Staff created a friendly atmosphere, food was lovely, and the place was very well kept. the friendly staff and excellent service. i will definitely be back. it was our 2nd visit and we loved everything about it!. The evening/ night staff rang me on my mobile as soon as i landed too ensure everything ok. Very organised late check in and a nightcap in the bar too distess made for a very pleasant end too a long day. Staff very pleasant and helpfull. the friendly staff and ambience of hotel ant the leisure centre 1st class. everything, in fairness you could not fault anything. The rooms and beds are comfortable, and have a sort of timeless quality/ sturdy feel about them (what other people might describe as out dated). Please don't renovate this hotel to make it one of those average hotels (95% of all hotels) If the hotel want's to update, they shouldjust replace the few bits of furniture that have worn out over the yea. The positive and friendly response of staff to queries. I like the 'can do' culture of the Auburn.friendly staff, nice bar, leisure center all middle of the road. Easy access and parking. Quiet location and the hotel itself was quiet although busy.Friendly staff and good to have the swimming pool on site. swimming pool, no hidden charges to use the facilities. The reception staff were wonderfully friendly. Tasty food, good athmosphere, quite room. It was comfortable, staff pleasant. I selected this hotel primarily due to its Leisure center as I travelled with 2 small children and they are big swimmers. They even have a kiddie section of the pool. Employees were very pleasant and helpful. Restaurant food was good. It was very kid friendly. Town center and mega-shopping is very close by (by car 4 minutes). Cliffs of Moher is only 40 minutes away.The hotel staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The beds were very comfortable, staff were polite and friendly.Lost of parking, Bar, restaurant. Reasonab and close to ennis town.The leisure centre. leisure centre. There was a lovely atmosphere in the hotel and the breakfast was lovely. Convienience for Ennis Town and Touring Clare.The guy sitting at the desk when we were checking out didn't give a good impression of the hotel!, we struggled to open the main door with our bags but he was too interested in his lap top to bother to help us. the receptionist was lovely but had left the desk after we'd paid our bill,so couldn't help. If this guy had been at the desk when we arrived he would certainly have given a bad impression. I realy liked the Hotel and will return again in May to make day trips from Hotel to see the high Cliffs looking out to Sea.the music that was played during breakfast each day was very dated and depressing. I am over 50 but even I found it 'music to commit suicide to'. all the stairs to the room!!!. Stephen the friendly barman was'nt on duty during our stay this time!. Would like towel bars to hang towels to dry. Being given the wrong measure of drink and been overcharged for it. The first room I was offered which had not been refurbished. The music that night in the bar. Parts of the hotel need to be modernised.Some noisy party animals on same corridor as family room. Thankfully staff took action when we complained at 4.30am and we were relocated to nice quiet wing on second day. The toilet in my room was out of order.my collegue found a piece of glass in his food which cut his mouth. the management were not very symphatic. looked like it was more isolated that it was. Only that I could not book directly, while I was there, for a family party in early April 2009. rooms well worn, basic. Not really a kids hotel play area clubs etc but not put forward as that.It is a little bit further from the town centre than the maps indicate. restaurant closed, for evening meals although the pub was open however the waitress was struggling to cope the food was good though. Too far out of town to walk although taxis easy to get. The entertainment at night in the bar could have been better it finishedvery early both nights we wer there. The hotel pool was great except they charge you a 2 euro deposit for a towel and you have to wear a swim cap which we had to purchase for 3.5 euros each. And everytime we went to the pool it was crowded with kids taking swim lessons as it is like the towns leisure center apparently. The clientel in the bar were a bit on the smelly side, it was a warm day they could have done with air-conditioing.Some scruffyiness, but not dirty. Security latches on windows on ground, some were broken, we requested amove and were facilitated.very noisy at night. One of the hotel receptionists was not at all friendly or welcoming when we arrived.The Key cards for my room needed reprogramming at least once a day, these cards are old and should be thrown away not issued to guests.

Information about the area

As a town known for its richness in history and tradition, Ennis dates back to the 13th century. With the friary's magnificent ruins still at its centre, the town exists as a thriving marketplace known for its narrow, winding streets, colourful shop fronts and pubs

Ennis Friary (2 km) - Founded in 1241 this abbey made Ennis a focal point of western Europe for many years. In 1375 it had no fewer than 350 friars and 600 students. The abbey still contains interesting sculpted tombs, decorative fragments and carvings.

Bunratty Castle and Folk Park (10 km) - Built in 1425 and restored in 1954. Situated on 26 acres, it revives 19th century Ireland. Features include a recreated village street, farmhouses, watermill, a blacksmith's forge, Mac's pub, a church and a display of 19th century farm machinery.

Cliffs of Moher (16 km) - Natural ramparts against the might of the Atlantic, they rise in places to over 215 metres and stretch for almost 8 km. O'Brien's Tower, constructed in the early 19th century as a viewing point for Victorian tourists, is located on Moher's highest cliff.
