One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. The receptionist I dealt on checking in and out with was wonderful and a real credit to the hotel. The location is super with being right in the centre of Dublin but also nice and quiet at night. The room I stayed in was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The huge tv screen and complimentary wine was a very welcoming touch. The purple and white colour scheme was very much to my taste and the ability to dim the lighting was a lovely additio.
all reviews » Stayed for 5 nights on July 2013. I had great experience. The location couldn't be more central, just 2 minutes walk from Temple Bar and 5 minutes from Dublin Castle. The rooms are very large and very well equipped and the bed extremely comfortable. The facilities are very modern but the interior designing is pleasant and warm. Breakfast contains wide selection of fresh products. The staff was friendly, outreaching and very efficient. They provided a lot of accurate information about the city. The reception was excellent especially Paul who made us feel like old friends arriving;my friends loved the warm cookies I would like to remember all the bar staff names 3 stood out one of which was Karl; appologies I havent remembered the other names; We had reason to visit the Shelbourne and the Clarence hotels over the weekend and the service in these bars was not near the standard at the Morrison. Every member of staff were friendly curteous and efficent; A credit to the hotel and this was . The hotel was very welcoming and very good impressions with it's design and cleanliness. Big change since it's revamp. Great job. It's so central to Temple Bar and shopping. The room was very comfortable and had good spacious design to it. The bar was lovely with good food and the breakfast was fabulous with wonderful welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for you, but not too overpowering either. Eggs hollandaise not up to scratch, tasteless. Deliberated with trying the steak grill rest but even though the space itself is beautiful, the area lacked atmosphere. I'm sure it's good on a weekend with the DJ. Location perfect. Excellent staff. The manager informed us on arrival that there was a problem with our room, we were upgraded to a fantastic 5 star hotel (Meridian) for our first night and returned to The Morrison for two nights and upgraded to a suite, plus a free evening meal! The Manager was excellent in making sure we were happy, I think we were just lucky!. From the moment we arrived to the time we sadly had to leave everything was perfect. Staff very professional but friendly. Rooms large and well equipped, with new modern decor. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Extensive range of drinks in the bar. Fantastic location - close to Temple Bar but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The staff were excellent, so friendly and very helpful. The room couldn't have been better. Attention to detail was brilliant and all the staff were there to help with any queries about the city. The breakfast was an amazing buffet containing everything you could want for breakfast, would definitely stay there everytime I'm in dublin. Location is perfect. 5 min walk to Templebar which is good to visit but of your over 40 don't stay there. Lots of good place to eat in walking distance. Hotel newly renovated and very modern. Nice to be greeted with a fresh warm cookie. That's a bit different! Tea and coffee in room is also great. We had a latge qiet room. It is a really beautiful hotel with a very efficent, friendly and curteous staff. Me and my friends stayed at the Hotel during St. Patrick's Day and our room was unfortunately damaged due to our neighbors, but I think that the hotel staff handled this perfectly and professionally. The staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us, particularly the room attendants from housekeeping and cleaning and the wait staff in the breakfast room. It felt friendly without being hassled. Love the design and comfort of the room, great bed, linen and bathroom. Hotel location is fantastic and the 24 hour deal with the jervis street car park is good value for the city centre. The welcome cookie at check- in was a pleasant surprise. We also enjoyed the speciality cocktail list when we came back to the hotel from our night out. Most of the staff were very good and helpful. For the most part, the venue was smart and the bar a great spot for Saturday night drinks (we sought refuge here after trying out the Temple Bar district - horrible!). Breakfast was really excellent, one of the best. The Morrison was conveniently located on the north bank directly opposite Temple Bar, so close but without the noise. Room was large and bed comfortable. Pretty smick hotel with good service and prompt check in/out, all at a reasonable tariff. Being close to the shops and temple bar. Friendly staff and they kept our bags when we checked out so we didn't have to carry them around. We collected them later and headed for the train. Basically everything! The food was really nice too. Great welcome gift (a delicious cookie), great location (you just cross the bridge and you are in temple bar, but you don't hear the noise from it in the hotel), nice and clean facilities, good breakfast. This is now my hotel of choice in Dublin. The service was first class! Rooms were beautiful and clean. We were able to check in early with no issues whatsoever, and the staff were absolutely lovely. Two minor points: At the first night there was a lot of noise in room 225 (probably due to some road construction that was ongoing on the street). They immediately moved me to a more quiet room on the next morning. In addition their wake-up system isn't accurate. If you have a flight to catch the next morning I'd use a backup. But this didn't spoil the overall good experience. A very minor point No Soup in room service at 2am in the morning;. The room was little cold at night. See other box! Would have been nice to have a bath in the room. We moved from the marker hotel to stay here so we would be closer to the city centre, a good move, even though the marker has more facilities and we had a bigger room there. Not sure if I liked the decor (quite retro pink/purple). Good facilities, more for business use I'd say. The breakfast cooked buffet was a bit dry but maybe we should have gone down to breakfast earlier. Couldn't fault a thing. Shower door noisey when closing. Being so ultra modern in design has a few issues, cannot blow dry hair near mirror. This is being picky! Would definitely stay here again. WiFi not great!. One recommendation from a woman, the sockets on the dressing table were not accessible, so I had to plug out the kettle to plug in hairdryer to see a mirror. Small point but important to a woman. Minor quibbles only - good breakfast offer but toast had to be requested and no option for cappuccino, just some pretty poor filter coffee. Parking is in close by public car parks - discounted rates on offer but inconvenient. Room was a little bit stark. No complaints!. Problems with getting the wifi in the room. The room rate is a little steep and the offer we partook of did not include breakfast. Check-in was very poor - the member of staff didn't communicate with us and no sign of the welcome pack/info/cookie for us. Also, no apology whatsoever that at 4pm our room was still not ready and no definitive on when it would be ready (as it happened, we got into room at about 4.40pm). In the morning, the noise of the housekeepers opening/closing doors was genuinely horrendous - impossible to sleep through. The room was stuffy and we couldn't open the window. Can't recall anything. The only drawback was the signposting..We had difficulty finding it. But after asking passer bys for directions, we eventually arrived at our destination. Emailed night before arrival requesting early check-in due to trans- Atlantic flight arrival at 8am. There did not seem to be any effort to accomodate that. Room was only ready at 3:30pm!. breakfast was expensive and all that great. The floor in my room (Junior Suite) was extremely slippery when in my socks, to the point of being dangerous. Also there was a couple of metal tacks and wooden splinters sticking out of a part of the floor that looked like it had been repaired. I caught my socks on them several times. If I had been staying more than one night or spending more time in the room I would have brought it to a staff members attention. Restaurant was OK but nothing special and was a bit cold..we had to wear our coats ! The breakfast was fine but the room a bit dark and gloomy...perhaps just needed to switch the big lamp on in the corner of the room ?. The room was a little bit too hot, the AC noisy and the window blocked. The bathroom was not nearly as elegant as the rest of the room, with an awkward layout, older tub and little space for toiletries. Loved this place. No complaints. Nothing. Couldn't open the window so no fresh air. The rooms were a little sparse no additions. Slight tobacco like odour in room and hallway. Nothing really, great hotel. But if you are more than 160 cm tall, you have to be some kind of an acrobat to get on to the toilet - that in my room at least - was hanging at the same height on the wall as in my kids kindergarten. one of our rooms had a shower problem which was reported on our arrival but not dealt with. Wouldn't recommend the home made pasta on the Grill menu-quite disappointing. nothing. i did not like that our stay was so short.... All good. Bar service was a bit slow.
