the hotel was very attentitave to us but not to the point of being invasive which we have experienced elsewhere. the room we were given had a disabled bathroom and shortly after we checked in we were offered a room change. a very pleasant stay and will definitely return. Friendly, helpful staff in all areas. Excellent food and wine. Comfort and general peacefulness. Overall very high quality and nothing pretentious.

I did not like the fact that the heating in the room could not be controlled and the room was freezing. perhaps some evening entertainment. There wasn't music or live entertainment in the bars any of the three nights that I stayed there, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The hotel was a bit too quiet for a Saturday night!. Just felt that in the dining room at dinner, the dining room was very busy but either the staff were not experienced enough or they do not have agood system for serving the guests. Had to ask four times for a glass of wine, despite this am really looking forward to our next visit to Solis.The hotel states that it is in Donegal town it is actually 2.5 miles outside the town!. Repeating dinner menu and cold plates for a cooked breakfast. No milk supplied in room for tea/coffee making. Breakfast was very average, was buffet and not fresh cooked - definitely not 5 star.Food was expensive according to the quality. We felt that the bar menu was vastly overpriced. The location of the hotel means there is very little option but to eat in-house but the prices do not reflect the food on offer. It is a bit inconvenient having to walk outside to get to the leisaure facilities, especially when it's cold and wet!. bar service poor ask on two occasions for drinks and did not recieve them.
