Very clean, comfortable, excellent staff. the mattress topper on the bed made it extremely comfortable, we loved the complimentary ballygowans and the ironand ironing board, it's amazing how many hotels don't have these!. We loved the location of the hotel. The decor is very attractiveespecially the framed olde posters. The surrounding shops are veryattractive. Swimming pool terrific.Nearness to town, leisure suite and station bar for food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable hotel with central location for both the town of Clifden and surrounding area. room was really nice. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, however the rooms could do with being refurbished as they are a bit tired looking. The staff were possibly the friendliest and most cooperative I have ever come across. Friendliness of staff. staff extremely helpful, friendly, efficient. convenience to the town, friendly staff. Paint areas were showing some neglect. the dinner served on the night the drifters were performing was very poor. central location. Convenience. nice comfortable bedroom. On the two occassions that I have stayed at this hotel I have been givennoisey rooms. On the second occassion I was disturbed by traffic. Could not say one . Just a comment about our particular ensuite, the water drainage from both the bath and sinks seemed to be extremely poor. However we had a sleepless night on our first night...as a result of thehotel bar staying open all night. Piano playing by guests from 5.30. Westayed on the first floor over the enterance. Guests gather at the seatsoutside to smoke. Voices travel solution: a smoking attractive area downby the swimming pool away from poor guests trying to sleep. Close thebar at 2.30and lock piano.child's cot not clean, water quality seemed poor (yellow colour), childrens' highchairs not cleaned thoroughly, new mattress required on beds, new bottle of water on ssecond night of stay would have been nice. bathrooms - old fashioned shower in the bath.... station bar was disappointing re entertainment on a holiday weekend.when we checked in, the room was was so cold , it was as if nobody stayed in the room for a long period. poor quality fresh fruit for breakfast.Lacking in character.
Poor selection for breakfast, frequent waits for basics to be replenished. The swimming pool - water rather cold and the steam room also cold.
