The staff are amazingly friendly and always had a smile on their faces. The hotel grounds are just fantastic, excellent location overlooking the beach, lovely sunsets. Close to outside restaurants and amenities. I had a fantastic stay at this resort and would highly recommend Kartika Plaza. Thanks very much to all the wonderful staff who helped make my stay very enjoyable. :). All of the staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the recreational and pool bar staff (Smiley, Madimadi, Oki etc) and the breakfast staff. The rooms were well maintained by efficient and friendly staff, and the facilities were well presented. Also the grounds staff kept the grounds around the resort in superb condition. Excellent.

The main criticism I had this time was the quality of the food in the resort which I thought had slipped since last year. Perhaps this was because it wasn't high season but this should not make any difference. The best food was in La Cucina. And all of the breakfasts were excellent. Everything else was fine. Didn't like being pushed out of hotel on Wednesday 26 June because of the visit by the President of Indonesia and not offered monetary compensation. I paid a lot of money to be at the hotel and enjoy the facilities. Not happy. Hairdryers in rooms should be upgraded as they are next to useless. some room's wifi are quite weak; toothpaste is bad. Many problem with intenet connection. Prices were a little expensive and our first room was a long way from pool facilities. We up-graded to a closer room at an extra cost even though rooms were vacant. Perhaps hotel could have offered a free upgrade. The smell of cleaning products used to clean wooden surfaces in our room. Internet is slow. nothing to dislike. A little over priced cannot always afford to stay. That I had to leave. None. very expensive for accomadtion. Some of the other meals did not meet the expectation established by the excellent breakfast. The room is too small for the price that we paid. I asked for seaview room but half of the sea view was block by a tree. Disco side, didn't sleep for 3 nights, shocking,very very loud Happy hour at bar should be buy one get one free, not 30 per cent of,. There is no "550 metres of private beach", as mentioned in Discovery brochure. No beach at all. On arrival blocked credit card for stay of 2 people after paying bill in full my creditcard had duplicate amount blocked from creditcard and after ringing hotel told it could take up to 2 weeks to reverse. Bathrooms pretty shabby lots of chipped tiles and water leaks. Expensive now for age of hotel.
