I do not use the word perfection so lightly, but Ayana has come as close to it as possible. The resort within resort themed villas, breathtaking design and location, unmatched facilities, attention to even the smallest detail is definitely the best I've ever seen. Ayana Resort ticks all the boxes. It is great for families, young couples and business travellers. There are many unique features to the resort such as: The Rock Bar - great for enjoying a cocktail as the sunsets, Kubu Beach - a semi private beach which is well maintained by the resort, offers incredible views, white sand and fun for snorkelling. Aquatonic Therapy pool - semi enclosed heated pool with massage jets offering stunning views of the resort and resort landscape.... to name just . Stayed in one of their Villas with Club privileges and it was pure opulence. The resort itself is huge with lots to see and do. There is extensive views of the ocean everywhere to be seen. Loved going back and forwards to the Club Lounge in their buggy with driver as the gardens, buildings, pools and ocean views were beautiful everywhere you looked, and there was so much to look at. The service is impeccable, and the staff are all a delight to be around. They truly made us feel like very specia. At check-in, we were informed of upgrade from hotel room to villa due to full tour groups, which was a surprise to us. This is a huge resort and you literally can spend half day to walk around everywhere. The staff are very well trained and eager to show to you everything of the resort. Last, the food served in the resort restaurants is best in Bali island (where on general the cooking skill has long way to be improved) comparing to other hotel/resort and independent restaurants we've tried . We were treated like royalty from the moment we first entered the gate 2kms away from the lobby. The hotel is absolutely fabulous in all aspects. The breakfast is the best we have ever experienced. The setting is breathtakingly beautiful. Having said this, all this would not work without the absolute amazingly professional staff. They really made it all worthwhile and a very rememberable experience. Fantastic resort. The entire property is beautiful, tucked away on the Nusa Dua coast line at the end of a quiet road. It is only a short distance to the city but you feel very relaxed and secluded. Great service, friendly staff all around. On a side note, we are a same sex, multi national couple and the staff treated us with the upmost respect. This is a fantastic lgbt friendly resort. The service really was amazing. All staff went out of their way to say hello and the manager even sent up a special gift for us for our honeymoon. Attention to detail as far as design, comfort and service was immaculate. Even though checkout was at 1pm we had the luxury of using the resort and its facilities until departure to airport later in the evening. The spa especially for last minute shower and freshening up!. As long as you have your expectations right, this is probably one of the most difficult questions to answer. * Ayana Resort is NOT for the budget conscious * Its not close to the action-packed spots of Kuta etc. although you can easily taxi there * They have strict policies which are in place for a reason. You can be sure they will bend it if it makes a guest's stay more pleasant but remember, this is an exception and not the rule. The only thign which I dont not like abt ayana was their limited variety of veg food....... In their club lounges /suites rooms......or else I would give this hotel a 10 on 10. I have no complaints. During our stay we noticed some of the villas are being renovated and there is some new construction work being carried out nearby but the resort management are handling this very well and it did not interfere with the guests experience. Not being there long enough. Still the rate is quite expensive, this is to normal price, although we've received a free upgrade to villa which is extremely good. Also the shuttle bus is very limited, only 4 rounds to Bali Collection every day; better to one or two other places and with increased frequency. Price is a bit steep and should include free wifi. We should have purchased the room with the breakfast and Internet included. It was 1,000,000idr for the Internet for the week and 600,000idr for breakfast for two each day. My only complaint would be the wifi. Only place in Bali that I have experienced that is not free...And when I did pay for it the range was terrible. Unable to use in the restaurants and over in the villa area..Very poor!. Charged for wifi, unexceptable in this day and age! Especially with what they are charging for rooms. Immediately lowered my opinion of the hotel. Overcharged for everything. A bit in the middle of nowhere. nothing in terms of hotel. just their prices for villas are expensive. Better order of pools for swiming and quiet stay is needed for furhter management and maintainence. No thing. Nothing. Food price is abit excessive. It was more of a honeymoon - couples only destination. I went with my sister and we didn't meet any young single people. Having to pay for wifi in our room is a bit annoying, as nearly every other resort, restaurant, cafe in Bali offer free wifi throughout the resort. In saying that we still love Ayana. We really would have liked Wi-Fi in the rooms and certainly at no extra charge as the case in all the other hotels we enjoyed in Bali. Rooms have thin walls. The isolation of the resort. Perfect if you are on honeymoon, not so perfect for exploring. Very small beach. No access when there are vawes. - they make you pay 25 usd a day for internet wifi but its so incredably slow, not possible to use it - one day we were woked up by grass cutter at 8 am. they finished only at 11. Not very relaxing.. too many stairs , this is too difficult to move with stroller /wheelchairs. Expensive. The hotel is isolated. You need to travel by taxi if you want to get out to surrounding area. Small beach area with steps leading down cliff to it but it is beautiful. nill. Very expensive. fairly isolated and expensive. Check-in time is too late. We became extremely unwell after eating at the seafood restaurant - shame because it ruined the rest of our holiday. Everthing is expensive. No free wi fi. Spa service is not really good for this value . Staff on the reception desk not friendly and have poor English.
