Everything!! The location is superb, the ambience so romantic, the service is top-notch, the food is great (the chef sent us complimentary dishes that were just delicious!), the views from our room (upgraded to a lake view) were incredible... We travel a lot all over the world, but it will be very hard to top the Taj Lake Palace hotel!! We truly felt like a Maharaja and Maharani. Hotel is absolutely beautiful and all the staff were outstanding. We celebrated our wedding anniversary during our stay and the hotel couldn't do enough for us. It was the most romantic experience and we wished we could have stayed longer. Spa treatments were excellent, the food delicious and our delightful waitress, Rose made it very special. Altogether sheer perfection.

I had already been upgraded to a suite which was appreciated because It was my birthday and when they discovered this I was given an even bigger and better suite. Birthday cake, complimentary pedicure, it just went on and on. An unforgettable magical experience. The staff were delightful. The facilities at Taj Lake Palace are superb; it is extremely beautiful & well maintained. The staff were most helpful and arranged a free 'cooking class' for my sister & I. Transfers from airport & to rail station were on time & excellent. It was expensive but worth it for the experience. The staff : never had a service like this in my life. Everything was just perfect ! We had an unforgettable moment with the chef after our diner : a real indian cuisine lesson ! our flight was delayed and so they took us back for a couple of extra hours in paradise !. 1. The welcome was stunning 2. The food in the restaurants is the best, they have some great chefs 3. The room was beautiful 4. They surprised us with a cake since it was our anniversary 5. Mewara terrace dinner, although very expensive (GBP250 per head) and only 1 table per night hence only 1-2% of guests can book a dinner. Having to leave so soon. Nothing. We couldn't fault it. I find it extremely petty that a hotel of this calibre charges for WI FI when every other budjet hotel I have stayed in doesn't. Too short :). No complimentary Wi Fi in the rooms. Nothing Ei mikään. Just one thing - the picture showed a boatman rowing but the boats I was on were all engine-powered. So a mini- disappointment there. I would have loved to be able to take a rowing boat out, or at least be rowed.... Leaving!. Evening entertainment lacked Limited restaurant choices. Nothing. Service feels forced, unlike at the Oberoi, too many pigeons and the bedrooms are not as luxurious as the price tag would suggest.
