This was the best place we stayed. It's absolutely amazing - the guesthouse is immaculate, only a year old. The beds are so comfortable, the room is simple and homey. The couple who own the guesthouse are the most friendly people we met in Iceland, the gentleman who owns the place is so kind and genuine. They have so much pride in their guesthouse and have a nice breakfast in the morning. We stayed two nights, and I was sad to leave, it was the best overnight experience we've had anyplace!! Clo.
all reviews » A fantastic place to stay. The owner was an extremely friendly and helpful gentleman, and could not have helped us more. After we arrived, he showed us our room, then took the time to sit down with us and chat about our plans, and gave us recommendations on the best routes to drive and where to eat dinner etc. The room itself was great - it was modern, clean, and comfortable. As previously mentioned, there was no in-room TV, but who cares?! If you are bored of your wife/husband/travel companio. Centrally located to many touristic day trips. Owners very friendly and extremely helpful people who take pride in their facilities, go out of their way to accommodate travelers and make them feel like part of the family. They provide touring, local and insider tips to make the stay most memorable including providing brochures, maps and trip suggestions. We visited and enjoyed more places than we had anticipated. Breakfast is fresh daily, varied and plentiful with 24hrs access to coffee. The ho. Extremely helpful owners who went out of their way to help and advise us of all the nearby places to see and visit. Very nice atmosphere, clean room and premises. Bed was comfy and the room was quiet. Shower was extremely good, probably the best out of every place we stayed at. Hot tub was great, and when we used it the owner asked if we wanted the heat turned up which was nice. Breakfast had a very good selection, including home made waffles. The food was all decent and not cheap stuff. I pe. Excellent, new, clean, well-equipped guesthouse. Hot tub, lounge area with view towards the Northern Lights, extremely warm and comfortable beds, owners Almar and Svan very friendly and caring, gave us lots of info for our trips out and advice re driving in the weather conditions we met. Also gave us weather and aurora forecasts daily, will wake guests if Northern Lights appear. Waffle maker and fresh waffle mix every day for breakfast! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Seve. Lambastadir gh is a newer guesthouse in a great location. Very clean, adequate roominess, delicious breakfast, and friendly hosts. We stayed here three nights and would not hesitate to return. We also went on a jeep tour to Landamannalauger led by the owner, Almar, and had a great time. He was most considerate of our wants and went out of his way to provide a fun and informative tour. We like to photograph and he was more than willing to stop and let us take pictures whenever we asked. - Bob C. The owners were great, very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect near coast, hiking, highlands.... Rooms were perfect, nice hot pot outside on deck, Almer, co-owner educated us on great stops while traveling, hiking, and stops off the beaten path. He is a tour guide as well... Good restaurants nearby. Hospitality was outstanding. Almer introduced th kids to the ducks, rabbits and goslings running around he farm. Also made sure the kids got a chance to feed the sheep and took us into the field to meet the baby sheep born the day before. It was amzing experience and they were so helpful and kind. The location was peaceful and facilities excellent. I loved being in the country and around the animals on the farm (horses, sheep, geese etc). The owner was very helpful is advising places to go nearby and the breakfast was brilliant. Highly recommended and a most enjoyable 3 nights here. They are VERY clean people. Shoes are removed at the front, so you never have crumbs from your feet in the bed. They have homemade pancake batter and blueberry jam every morning. They have a couple bunnies, a sweet cat and dog, and a bunch of sheep. As animal lovers, it was awesome. Very kind people, good service, confortable rooms, very good breakfast, natural food... The people are really friendly, they have a nice farm with many animals. They like to speak with you and show the animals the farm to you... You will feel like in a family. thanks a lot :). It was in a great location for traveling the golden circle. It was also an easy drive to the Blue Lagoon. The room was very, very clean and the breakfasts were really nice. The animals on the property were awesome and the staff was really warm and helpful. Newly built accommodation which was clean, bright and fresh. Rooms were adequately furnished and the family who ran the guesthouse couldn't t have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the hot tub a great place to relax. The nice owner helped us with everything we needed and was very kind, the room was nice and breakfast was with good selection and with the option to make your own waffles :) There is also a hotub and some farm animals outside. We received a tour of the farm and saw lots of animals, which we really enjoyed. It's actually a farm. The rooms has everything you need if you are in Iceland, the breakfast is made by the owners' wife and includes a lot of good local food and the wife is constantly renewing the food availabilities. Despite waking up the owner to find the the place, he was very cheerful and extremely kindly lent us his fishing gear as ours was delayed at the airport. Nothing, it was the best place - if there was a rating from one to ten, I'd give it an 11+ :-). Only a minor thing, but no TV. All lodgings in Iceland are pricey. But, what are you gonna do?. Only one small thing - it would be good to get blackout shades on the windows for people adjusting to the time difference and the midnight sun. I wish their maple syrup was maple syrup, and not "liquid sugar.". Probably a little more sound proofing would have been good as there was a loud snorer next door, but this wouldn't deter us from a future visit. Nothing. Everything was great. Everything was good :). A bit more hanging space needed. We did have to dry our swim gear on a radiator in the conservatory so a clothes drying facility would be useful, if there isn't one, we didn't see one. Shower could use some surface area for toiletries. There was no effective barrier between shower floor and bathroom floor, so bathroom floor got wet. That was an issue at most of the hotels/guesthouses we stayed in Iceland, but it was more noticeable here. Otherwise, a great place. No dislikes. none, was just perfect for us. Walls were very thin so that we heard everything from neighboring rooms, i.e.,chairs moving, talking, something dropped on the floor, etc. Luckily, our neighbors were not noisy. It was kind of far from other places we wanted to experience. Nothing!. Quite a long drive to get evening meal. an extra pillow and TV would be better.
